Ok, it´s not coming back with new episodes if that´s what you are looking for, but Ugly Betty is coming back to make weekends “fabulosos”!

ABC is trying to help long-time fans and new viewers find “Ugly Betty” on their local TV stations.

One way to do this is by playing the Ugly Betty Photo Challenge

You can follow once again the lives of Betty Suarez, the assistant to Daniel Meade at Mode Magazine, Amanda Tanen, Marc St James, Justin, Ignacio and Hilda Suarez and Christina McKinney.

As Betty herself said: “You can take my bunny but you can’t take my spirit!”

As folks at DADT – Disney-ABC Domestic Television say it: Weekends just got bettyer!

Cancelled Shows 2010: Ugly Betty gets cancelled by ABC due to low ratings

Ugly Betty cancelled by ABCWe are reviewing all the cancelled shows and renewed shows of the season.

And this may or may not come as a surprise, but it´s definitely sad news.

ABC has cancelled Ugly Betty, and also trimmed the episode order from 22 to 20.

Fortunately, the writers will have enough time to make a good series finale and not leave everyone hanging after Ugly Betty getting cancelled.

This statement was posted at Ausiello´s Blog:

Exec producer Silvio Horta and ABC president Steve McPherson confirmed as much in this joint statement:  “We’ve mutually come to the difficult decision to make this Ugly Betty’s final season, and are announcing now as we want to allow the show ample time to write a satisfying conclusion. We are extremely proud of this groundbreaking series, and felt it was important to give the fans a proper farewell.”

If you ever watched Ugly Betty, the original colombian telenovela, you would probably alredy know this; but there´s a romance between Betty and her boss on that show.

Now, the creators of the US Version of Ugly Betty are speculating about the romance between Daniel and Betty.

So, the big spoiler for Ugly Betty would be that: Betty and Daniel having a romance.

* Ana Ortiz carves out an early spot on my Dream Emmy Ballot with a performance that will move you to tears and laughter. Honorable mentions go to Michael Urie, Mark Indelicato, Vanessa Williams, and America Ferrera, who has come to embody Betty so wholly that it’s easy to take her superior work for granted.

What is Ugly Betty About? – Plot

Ugly Betty is an American comedy-drama television series created by Silvio Horta, which premiered on The American Broadcasting Company on September 28, 2006. The series revolves around Betty Suarez, unglamorous and good-natured girl, and her incongruous job at the ultra-chic New York City fashion magazine Mode. The series is an adaptation of the Colombian telenovela Betty la fea, written by Fernando Gaitán. The series is produced by Silent H, Ventanarosa and Reveille respectively partnered with ABC Studios, and is primary filmed in Los Angeles, California, but together with the pilot episode and the third and fourth season the series is filmed in New York. The executive producers are Salma Hayek, Silvio Horta, Ben Silverman, Jose Tamez and Joel Fields.

Ugly Betty has been renewed by ABC for a fourth season and will air on Friday nights at 9:00pm Eastern/8:00pm Central starting October 9, 2009, causing fans and critics to worry that ABC wants to end the show since it will be on in the Friday night death slot. On July 24, 2009, TV Guide Network announced that it has acquired the exclusive cable right to the show and will air the fourth season episodes 14 days after its ABC run with an option to strip the show daily, with plans to air it weekly starting in the fall of 2010.

Kristen Johnston to star in Ugly Betty; Paula Abdul not getting the gig

kristen johnston in ugly betty instead of paula abdulOk, Ausiello just reported it, Former 3rd rock from the sun star Kristen Johnston is going to be a regular in next season of Ugly Betty.

The role was supposedly being handed to Paula Abdul, but the former American Idol judge had quite a list of demands that exceeded what the producers were willing to give her, and along came Kristen.

“I’ve always considered myself a poor man’s Paula Abdul,” Johnston told Ausiello, who adds: She describes her Betty character as “Amanda in 10 years. She’s still trying to get into the right clubs, wearing tight dresses… tragic. I think [Helen] sees herself as Samantha from Sex and the City. Except, of course, she’s a temp.”

Kristen Johnston will first appear in the second half of Ugly Betty’s two-hour premiere on Oct. 9.

Kristen Johnston (born September 20, 1967) is an American stage, film, and television actress. She may be most famous for her Emmy Award winning role as Sally Solomon in the television series 3rd Rock from the Sun. She also starred as Wilma Flintstone in the sequel to the live-action movie adaptation of The Flintstones animated series. Kristen Johnston is also known for her tall 6′ (1.83 m) frame and relatively deep voice for an actress. In 2005, Johnston was also featured in six episodes of NBC’s ER. She has recently been cast as Patsy in the American version of the British TV show, Absolutely Fabulous.

Characters dying all over the place: House, Heroes, Grey´s Anatomy, etcetera

This season finale 2009 is going to be rough for many shows…

There are a lot of deaths in season finales written, and there´s going to be many characters written off for next season.

Let´s review a little:

  • Edie is dying on Desperate Housewives
  • Who´s dying on Chuck

One Death is planned in this show, and according to Executive Producer Josh Schwartz, it´s going to be shocking.

  • Are Molly or Christina dying on Ugly Betty?

The obvious candidates are terminally ill Molly (Sarah Lafleur) or barely-visible Christina (the exiting Ashley Jensen). Which means it’s probably neither. So… who´s dying on Ugly Betty season finale?

  • Who´s dying on Law & Order: SVU Season Finale?

It’s not Benson (Mariska Hargitay) or Stabler (Chris Meloni). Beyond that, no one’s safe.

  • Who´s dying on 24 Season Finale?

It’s 24. It’d probably be easier if I told you how many people aren’t dying.

  • Who´s dying on CSI: NY Season Finale?

A cop killer targets a member of the team and “forever changes” the show, teases exec producer Peter M. Lenkov.

  • Who´s dying on Smallville season finale?

One of the deceased is a long-running character. The other isn’t. One is a man. The other…

  • Who´s dying on Heroes season finale?

Two of the deaths will stick. A third won’t.

  • Who´s dying on Big Love season finale?

A major male character.

  • Who´s dying on Supernatural Season Finale?

It’s someone close to Sam and Dean.

  • Who´s dying on Lost season finale?

One is major, the other major-ish. (Desmond and Juliet? perhaps? or that makes it two major?)

  • Who´s dying on Ghost Whisperer season finale?

The victim will be someone close to one of the main characters… well… besides all those dead people talking.

  • Who´s dying on Prison Break season finale?

As the series reaches its climax, Michael must choose whether to save the love of his life (Sara) or his bro (Linc). Maybe he chooses neither?

  • Who´s dying on Grey´s Anatomy season finale?

As we already said it. Izzie Stevens is dying.

  • Who´s dying on House MD Season Finale?

It´s one of the major characters, and it´ll be a shocker. Front runners are Taub, Chase and Foreman to die on House MD.

Rumour dismissed: Ugly Betty´s not cancelled

Many TV Fans are nervous… many great shows have been cancelled already this year, and there were some rumours about Ugly Betty getting cancelled too…

Well, nothing´s true about it… Ugly Betty´s not getting cancelled!!! Yay!!!

Ugly Betty role star Michael Urie, who plays Marc St. James in the show tells it better in his own blog:

come on, really? Here are the facts:

We are going to finish shooting our original 3rd season order – 24
episodes (currently on 16).

At the end of March, we’re going off the air for a while, at a time
when we would normally be on for a few weeks, off for a few,
confusing and angering fans with repeats.

In June, we come back, and finish the last 6 episodes of the season
without interruption!

This has been done with lots of ABC shows over time, like LOST and
Desperate Housewives. We’ve got great real estate on Thursday nights
at 8pm, and the network wants to share it with other shows! It makes
sense.

Doesn’t mean the end of Betty.
