It´s not easy for a show to reach seasons 23 and 24. Well, it´s easier if you do two seasons every year, but still difficult; you´d need to pull a twelve year run.
Survivor´s doing it. We are reviewing all the cancelled shows and renewed shows of 2011.
CBS is renewing Survivor for two more cycles, cycle 23 and 24.
Jeff Probst will be still the host for the two cycles, and serve as executive producer of the show too.
In the announcement, Jennifer Bresnan, CBS Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, said: “Survivor’ is a program franchise that continues to stand the test of time. Each season delivers new faces, exotic places, the ultimate social experiment combined with game play, and one of the most engaged audiences anywhere on primetime television”.
Redemption Island, current edition of recently renewed Survivor is averaging a great 11.9 million viewers, and 3.4 in the very coveted 18/49 adult demo.
How could Survivor not get renewed? Its numbers are up 150% from the previous year, so it´s kind of a no brainer.
