skins-mtv-cancelled-renewedYou know that things weren´t going well to racy show on MTV Skins, right?

Well, after three months of its last ousting, MTV finally makes it official. MTV cancels Skins after one season, because the audiences in the US did not mesh at all, even though the show is very succesful in its original UK format.

According to an official MTV statement, “Skins is a global television phenomenon that, unfortunately, didn’t connect with a US audience as much as we had hoped,” “We admire the work that the series’ creator Bryan Elsley did in adapting the show for MTV, and appreciate the core audience that embraced it.”

Even though the show launched to a lot of controversy, meaning a lot of viewers in the debut, with 3.3 million viewers following Jersey Shore, but in the second episode Skins lost half of the audience, and also the advertisers were leaving the ship as fast as they could.

MTV aired the full season, but there were little hope for a second season of Skins, battling to get audiences, to get advertisers and to battle the parents associations for all that matter.
