More information to fill the lists for cancelled shows of 2012 and renewed shows of 2012. And in the same day as ABC cancelled The Revolution, it also renewed The Chew for a new run.
Cancelling One Life to Live and All My Children was a big bet for the network, and after one year of the experiment, and The Chew‘s ratings have been largely on par with those of the soap it replaced, All My Children, at a fraction of the production cost, making it a good move, whilst The Revolution lost near half the ratings from One Life to Live.
This confirmation for The Chew does not mean a full fledged renewal order, rather than a continuing order on the present, and dropping The Revolution to make room for Katie Couric´s talk show, and leaving the status quo of The Chew at least until they get another show to take a shot on. But, for now, The Chew gets a renewed bet. Not sure for how long it will stick though.
What do you think? Are you happy that The Chew got renewed for now? Let me know in the comments section.
Also, remember to follow me on Twitter for more scoop about shows getting renewed as The Chew did.
No!!!!! Want the soaps back. The ratings are down on The chew to.Katie hasn;t gotten a chance.Everyone is digusted with all the talk and reality and lifestyle shows.People are totally fed up.All they all our is dime dozen shows.
The Chew being renewed for another year?? Oh no that sucks! It sucks even more that The “Pew” is aired on certain Canadian networks. What I’m proposing is that if American even Canadian viewers who oppose The Chew keep boycotting that program that it may not even last a year so therefore I ‘d have a bit of a “field day” if The Chew ends up being CANCELED.
P.S.- Thank goodness that Revolution is being axed come June or July.
[…] ABC renews The Chew. […]
I am very sad that The Chew is renewed because it is not a good show. All of them have seem to have too much red bull or coffee. They are eating like they never had any food ever and they don’t wash their hands. When the audience gets a plate of food they eat from that so discussing. I have watched better cooking shows on the food channel.
The ‘Spew’ must go, right along with The ‘Revultion’ and then if you think Couric’s show is going to survive…think again ! We soap fans have been boycotting ALL ABC Daytime shows, except for General Hospital, since AMC and OLTL were cancelled. You think you can change something after 40 plus years of loyal viewership…not so fast. You might squeeze a few more episodes out of ‘Spew’ but with ‘Revultion’ already gone, I wouldn’t hold out much hope for Katie (“again, what books do you read”) Couric (did she really think Palin had TIME to read, with a business to run and 5 kids AND a little thing called the governorship ??) Good Luck with that :-/
