Excerpt: You will read about The Newsroom renewal by HBO in this article
I keep adding more information onto the lists of cancelled shows of 2012 and renewed shows of 2012. Interestingly, HBO has renewed The Newsroom for a second season after airing merely two episodes. It should not be a surprise, since the show has some incredible pedigree, being from Aaron Sorkin (the same who created The West Wing, The Social Network and Moneyball), and starring Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, John Gallagher, Jr., Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Dev Patel, Olivia Munn, and Sam Waterston.
When you get something like that, you stick with it as fast as you can; and that´s exactly what HBO just did, it renewed The Newsroom. A no brainer call.
First season consists of only nine episodes, and after the airing of the premiere to an interesting 2 million and then some viewers, and a second episode also succesful, the decision was pretty much only a matter of time.
You can watch the show Sundays on HBO, and up until season finale on August 26th.
What do you think? Are you happy HBO renewed The Newsroom for a new season? Let me know in the comments section.
Also, remember to follow me on Twitter for more shows getting renewed as The Newsroom did scoop.
I’m pleased to see The Newroom renewed for a second season! It is a great show with thoughtful, intelligent writing and superb acting! I’m grateful there’s more to t.v. life than unfunny comedies (i.e. 2 broke girls, up all night) and really unimportant and mindless reality t.v.!
I am thrilled HBO has renewed Newsroom The little drama’s goling on with the characters has me screaming at the TV ” TELL HER THE REST OF THE MESSAGE” I know your thinking get a life, but i am so sick of all this mind numbing realty tv and HBO seems to be the only network offering me something to think about and heh I’m Canadian, before Newsroom I didn’t even care about my big brother across the border. Keep up the great work.
We are very relieved the show is renewed, it has renewed our faith that there is intelligent life. Although I would like to see those young couples stop being with the wrong people it gets hard to like all four of them, still it’s the best thing on TV.
