HISTORY announced today that new episodes for Season 3 of the U.S. version of Top Gear will premiere Tuesday, January 29 at 9PM ET/8C. And the year came out in its first week already giving way to a couple renewals.
History Channel renews Top Gear US for a second season; and it should not surprise anyone since the show gained the youngest audiences for a show ever in History, enhancing the channels options.
Production on the second season of Top Gear, from BBC Worldwide Prods., will begin in the spring. Returning as co-hosts are comedian Adam Ferrara, champion rally and drift racer Tanner Foust and racing analyst Rutledge Wood.
Featuring super-cars, extreme stunts and challenges, car reviews and celebrity interviews, Top Gear is the home for anyone with a love of cars. The U.S. version will be chock-full of high-adrenaline action entertainment as it tracks the colorful history of the automobile as well as the eccentric adventures of its hosts with Top Gear’s customary wit and humor.

The challenge of the day, Rutledge, Adam and Tanner had 1,000 dollars and they had to find the best car available for that money and after a set of challenges, they´ll know who got the best deal.
Rutledge got a 1987 Ford Thunderbird Turbo.
Tanner got a 1987 Nissan 300ZX.
Adam got a 1976 Cadillac Coup de Ville.
Tanner: Big news, Rutledge is a big wuss.
Adam: That´s no news for us
They show a study about the most and least likely cars to get a ticket.
The three play a little on what Buick slogan should be:
Adam: Buick, how´s your hip?
Tanner: Buick. Your turn signal´s on
Rutledge: “Buick: It works for Tiger Woods”
The car of the episode is Mustang VOS 302. Looks quite nice!
Funniest man on earth Ty Burrell is the interview of the day and tries his best on the race track too.

They take the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 11,000 feet up on a snowy way in Mammoth and challenge two skiers up and down the mountain.

Tanner: Not only this car could drive in snow. It mastered it. I was in love!
Tanner Foust says he´s had the most fun he could have in a family car for 34 thousand dollars.
Rutledge gets to drive an Aston Martin, making him the “classiest” Rutledge ever. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage. The smallest Aston Martin there… but none the less, an Aston Martin. It´s 500 pounds less heavy than the Porsche 911, that´s quite light.
Rutledge Quote of the day on the Aston Martin: This is the car you would save the world in. I´m Wood, Rutledge Wood.
And they show a “sexier” version of the V8, the Aston Martin V12. It has the beauty and it has the soul. Question is if it has the power.

And in this case what I have for you are the official descriptions for the episodes of Top Gear US, and the Spoilers for First Season of Top Gear US.
In episode one there’s a battle between 2 snakes as Rutledge Wood and Tanner Foust give the soon to be replaced Dodge Viper SRT a fitting send off by pitting it against a Cobra attack helicopter through the streets of Griffin, Georgia. Adam Ferrara, Rutledge Wood and Tanner Foust compete over which is the best Lamborghini ever in a 180 mile an hour desert drag race, and astronaut Buzz Aldrin takes to the Top Gear test track.
Tanner races his favorite cut price sports car against 2 extreme skiers down a mountain, Rutledge finds out if Aston Martin has solved a horsepower problem in the new Vantage model and Adam and Rutledge try to beat professional drift champion Tanner Foust in a drifting competition by cheating. Actor Dominic Monahan takes to the Top Gear test track.
Adam, Rutledge and Tanner have to buy cars for $1000 and then put them through a series of crazy moonshine-running related challenges in North Carolina. Modern Family’s Ty Burrel gets on the Top Gear test track. Also in episode 3, there will be the first of the “News” segments, during which the guys discuss unique car news in the world.
Tanner races Ford’s new F150 Raptor against a parachutist jumping from 25,000 feet, Adam reviews the new Mercedes SLS AMG and Rutledge and Adam go into battle as they attempt to create a replacement for the Hummer for the Military. Kid Rock races on the Top Gear test track. There will be a “News” segment in this episode.
Tanner, Adam and Rutledge head to Detroit to choose their favorite old GM cars and put them through a series of crazy challenges to decide which one should be brought back into production. Skateboard legend and game designer Tony Hawk gets on the Top Gear test track. There will be a “News” segment in this episode.
Tanner goes to England to try out a sports car made from wood with surprising results, and the three of them race against each other from Miami to Key West in car, boat and plane. Michelle Rodriguez gets on the Top Gear test track. There will be a “News” segment in this episode.
Rutledge and Adam race the new Honda CRZ against extreme mountain bikers through the streets of San Francisco, and Tanner, Adam and Rutledge become used car salesman with crazy results. Tim Allen gets on the Top Gear test track.
Rutledge races Tanner to see if it’s faster to fly or drive if your journey is less than 500 miles, Tanner tries out the new BMW X6M and Rutledge gets confused by the new Porsche Panamera. Brett Michaels gets on the Top Gear test track.
Tanner, Rutledge and Adam set out to answer the question of which is America’s toughest truck, in Americas toughest state, Alaska.

The series, which showcases an offbeat celebration of automobiles and driving, is set to premiere this fall 2010, and will be hosted by comedian and car buff Adam Ferrara, champion rally and drift racer Tanner Foust and racing analyst Rutledge Wood.
History Channel confirmed the first round of on set talent interviews, to include: Astronaut Buzz Aldrin; Tim Allen (“Toy Story” and “Home Improvement”); Ty Burrell (“Modern Family”); skateboarder Tony Hawk; Musician Bret Michaels; Dominic Monaghan (“LOST”); Musician Kid Rock; and Michelle Rodriguez (“Avatar”).
The Stig is a key figure in the Top Gear brand. The masked stunt driver’s identity remains unknown as IT takes each one of the featured cars through the ultimate test around the Top Gear track, setting the benchmark time that each car will be judged by.
Featuring super-cars, extreme stunts and challenges, car reviews and celebrity interviews, Top Gear is the home for anyone with a love of cars. The U.S. version will be chock-full of high-adrenaline action entertainment as it tracks the colorful history of the automobile as well as the eccentric adventures of its hosts with Top Gear’s customary wit and humor. The series harkens back to History Channel’s very first day, and the network’s very first program ever to air, Automobiles: Corvette.

Adam Ferrara is an acclaimed comedian, currently starring on the Emmy-nominated hit FX show, Rescue Me, and recently appeared opposite Kevin James in the theatrical feature, Paul Blart: Mall Cop. A regular comedian on various hit talk shows including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Show with David Letterman, The View and Rachel Ray, Ferrara has been dubbed ‘hilarious’ by Entertainment Weekly and is a two-time nominee for best male stand-up by the American Comedy Awards. Adam’s favorite car is a Pagani Zonda F Roadster.
Tanner Foust is in high-demand as a stunt driver, with film credits including The Bourne Ultimatum, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and The Dukes of Hazard. Foust is a winning competitor in rally, drift, ice racing and time attack with multiple champion podium placements in the past few years including the 2010 Rally and Rallycross X Games Champion, 2007 X Games Rally Champion and 2007 Formula Drift Pro Drift Champion. Foust now holds more X Games Rally gold medals than any other competitor. His varied race experience includes open wheel competition, the Pikes Peak Hill Climb (2002 – 2004), five Ice Racing championships and the 2005 PGT Rally Championship. He also holds class lap records at numerous U.S. road courses in Time Attack. In addition, Foust also hosted “Supercars Exposed” for the SPEED channel.
Tanner’s driving career started early when he was fired from his job driving a ski resort bus for drifting across the parking lot.
Rutledge Wood is a truly car-obsessed and learned from his father, at an early age, the business of buying, restoring and selling new and old vehicles. His love of cars led him to NASCAR, and to starring in NASCAR Smarts on the SPEED Channel, a NASCAR trivia game show with Kyle Petty and John Roberts. He’s also a roving reporter for NASCAR RaceDay Built by the Home Depot, Trackside Live and NASCAR Live. To this day, Wood has owned over 40 cars and trucks ranging from a Volkswagen Rabbit pickup truck to Honda’s, Chevy’s, and even as weird as a 1975 Bricklin SV-1. His favorite is a 1953 Plymouth Suburban that was given to him by the King himself, Richard Petty.
Top Gear, which premiered in the UK in 1977, is consistently BBC TWO’s most-watched program in the UK. Top Gear also reaches over 150 million households globally and made its stateside debut on BBC America in 2007. One of the BBC’s premiere brands, Top Gear, the magazine, is the leading car publication in the UK, and the global road tour, Top Gear Live, proved to be a great success in 2009.
Top Gear has also been the recipient of various awards including National Television Awards, BAFTAs, Broadcast Awards, Royal Television Society Awards and an International Emmy. Celebrity guests have included Helen Mirren, Hugh Grant, Simon Cowell, Ewan McGregor and Gordon Ramsay.
