Today has been a day full of news in the fron, mostly good news to add to the lists of cancelled shows of 2012 and renewed shows of 2012, all except this one: ABC Family cancelled Jane By Design after its first season.
It hasn´t been officially announced yet, so there´s still a glimmer of hope, but Deadline already reported that Jane By Design got cancelled: Jane By Design had an OK initial 10-episode run in the winter, which yielded an eight-episode back order in February. But the series could not keep up with its Pretty Little Liars lead-in this summer.
The show, starring Erica Dasher and Andie MacDowell made for an entertaining hour on TV, but failed to keep its numbers on par from the first run, in its back half of the season.
Jane by Design was a show about A case of mistaken identity has a dateless high school outsider living a double life as a twenty-something career girl in the fashion world where we could see the journey of Jane Quimby from high school to high fashion.
It is sad that ABC Family is cancelling Jane By Design because the show was good family entertainment.

I loved Jane by design it was so funny and family friendly. I don’t even watch Pretty little liars, saw a couple of episodes and thought it was rediculous with lame acting……..Too far fetched couldn’t stomach it.
ITS WRONG THAT WAS MY SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY CANCELED IT W/O A REASON!!!!!!!!!!! AN ENDED IT BY LEAVING US HANGING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love Jane by design I already watched all 18 episodes twice, I can’t believe they’ll cancel the show without Billy and Jane ever getting together it was such a good fun show to watch!
I loved that show!!!!!! It’s a shame that had to cancel it when it was just getting good. Great acting and great story lines. BRING IT BACK!
I just found out that Jande by design got cancelled and am devistated! First they cancelled The Nine Lives of Chloe King and now Jane! I don’t even get ABC Family. I have watched all of these shows through Hulu. They said that they could not get the same amount of viewers as Pretty Little Liars. Well, that is like comparing apples to oranges. I am also addicted to pretty little liars but for very different reasons. Pretty Little Liars is more about lies, secrets, blackmail, murder, mystery and things of that nature. I watch pll to see what secret will be revealed next and if all the girls are going to make it out of all of this ok. Jane is about a girt who is an outsider trying to make her dreams come true and trying to keep her relationships intact in the process. Jane is about relationships, dreams, love and doing the right things even if it gets you in trouble in doing so. I watch jane to see if she can keep it all together, if her brother and Ms. Shaw can stay together and if she will ever get around to telling her best friend and soul mate that she loves him. At least do us all a favor and make 4 more episodes to wrap the show up in the best possible way and if you can’t do that then please shop the show around so another network can pick it up. I am tired of getting into a show only to find out it is getting cancelled. PLEASE DON’T CANCEL JANE BY DESIGN! IT IS AN AMAZING SHOW!
I too loved Jane By Design. It was one of the few shows I recorded each week so I wouldn’t miss any!! I’m 67 years old and I was thouroughly entertained by it. I can’t imagine that if it was on a major tv station that it wouldn’t have been a big hit!!
if you have any way of letting abc family know that we all love this show and would hate to see it go plz plz plz!!!!!!!!! This show is way better than many of the other shows and deserves a spot on ABC famly!
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?????????? I LOVE JANE BY DESIGN!!!!! I loved being allowed to stay up till ten to watch it! I loved the conflict and the drama, my whole family does! We used to watch it every Tuesday night at 9:00. Somebody, please FIX THIS!!!!!! i aM GoiNG CraZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
why do all good shows get cancelled i really liked that show. It was family freindly and it had a meaning to it unlike some of theother shows that are on abc family please reconsider and bring back cast was good.
NO i love jane by design all of these other shows like pretty little lair and switched at birth suck their boring and make no sense so i would love it if we still had jane by design PLEASE DONT CANCEL IT PLEASEE
