As usual, we are reviewing all the cancelled shows on 2011 and the renewed shows on 2011… and this one is coming as a bittersweet moment for Andre Braugher, since he was a nominee yesterday for an Emmy Award, and now TNT cancels Men of a Certain Age after second season´s been subpar in the ratings.
Men of a Certain Age got a Peabody Award a couple of months back due to its high quality content, but the second season failure to mesh with the audiences turned out in Men of a Certain Age cancellation by TNT.
The official Men of A Certain Age cancellation release by TNT read: “TNT has been proud to be a part of Men of a Certain Age for two seasons. While the show has featured great storytelling and impeccable performances, the audience simply hasn’t built to the point where we can continue the series. This was an extremely difficult decision for us. We wish Ray Romano, Mike Royce and the terrific cast and crew of Men of a Certain Age the very best and look forward to exploring new programming possibilities in the future.”
This is to make room for Dallas reboot. It better be a good one or someone´s head will be cut off!
On the bright side, this leaves Scott Bakula, Andre Braugher and Ray Romano free to bring us new characters and new enjoyable moments.

[…] TNT cancels Men of a Certain Age. Damn! […]
Apparently this is the era where good writing and acting gets put aside in
favor of so called “reality” shows and remakes of already tried out formulas
over, and over … and over, again. Since nowadays most of what is being fed to
us by the media, radio and T. V stations is based on appearance, talent and
skills are therefore replaced by lack of originality and “perfect” body looks
and of course, the so infamous “ratings” But was it really ratings what killed
the show? Of course not. It was the lack of proper management by TNT to promote
the show. They played some episodes then went on hiatus for months to show the
second half of the season and they were expecting ratings to be up? C’mon! It
wasn’t the viewers not watching but TNT’s mishandling of the credit and
attention the show deserved. I sincerely hope another T. V station will pick it
up. For a show so well written and acted, it truly deserves much more than two
very short seasons

One of the finest quality shows on TV being cancelled. Men is a smart, insightful, entertaining program that offers viewers something that is little available on TV these days. A travesty in my opinion. Let’s make room for some more garbage. What a loss.
