With all the news going around it seems a never ending job to keep our list of renewed shows on 2011 and all the cancelled shows on 2011 updated, but hey, someone´s got to do it.
In this case, Lifetime cancelled The Protector, while the show was in its freshman season, and this is not entirely surprising since the show started slow in the ratings, with 1,9 million viewers, and never gained from there; and also being bad the fact that they had a strong lead in in Army Wives, but could only hold to 50% of the drama´s numbers. Therefore, Lifetime cancels The Protector, and the show, headlined by Ally Walker, who portrayed Gloria Shepherd, a LAPD Homicide Detective who needs to juggle such a hard work with being a mother raising two children.
Having The Protector cancelled also frees Tisha Campbell Martin, and that gives hope of seeing her pairing up again with Damon Wayans and relive the magic of My Wife and Kids. Oh, if only!
Back to the news from this article, Lifetime cancelled The Protector and still, fate to be determined is the other new drama from the network, Against The Wall, although I was always much more invested in the other one if I had to call which one gets renewed.
What do you think? Are you sad Lifetime cancelled The Protector? Let me know in the comments section. Also, remember to follow me on Twitter for more renewed and cancelled shows as The Protector scoop.
I love show the protector, it was different. Gloria was a calmer version of Monk. I hope they change their mind and renew

Against the Wall was and is a solid show. It has compelling characters in plausible situations with interesting twists. Probably not as good as Blue Bloods but still, the Internal Affairs angle and family dynamics makes it worth watching and enjoying. If lifetime lets creative programmers, rather than profit consuming bean counters dictate what is cancelled and what is renewed, “Against the Wall” should have a good chance.

I’m so upset that one of my favorite summer shows was cancelled. Against the wall was awesome. I love all the characters on the show. I was really looking forward to find out who she was going to choose. Instead of putting on new shows, they should keep the ones they have already. Whats the point of putting on a show get the audience hooked then cancel it. Makes me not want to watch lifetime anymore. I didnt find out that my show was cancelled until I looked it up to see when it was going to come out again. I’m very dissappointed with LIFETIME.
