americas-funniest-home-videos-cancelled-renewed-abc-season-twenty-threeMore information to fill the lists for cancelled shows of 2012 and renewed shows of 2012.  This one has been a long running and it´s extending its run. And now, with all the cameras in every little gadget, there´s much more material for the production to pick from, so ABC renewed America´s Funniest Home Videos, a show that managed to go the transitions from tape, to digital cameras, to phones filming.
America’s Funniest Home Videos is a weekly television series featuring home videos of kids, adults and animals during their most spontaneous and hilarious moments.

Each week, host Tom Bergeron shines the spotlight on new videos of cute cats and dogs, adorable babies, spectacular wipeouts, clever practical jokes, skateboarding debacles, water pranks, and wedding calamities. The failures and fiascos, collisions and collapses and just plain bad luck make AFV fans return each week to cringe and laugh out loud. Never have so many groins been injured to the delight of so many!

During the season, AFV offers a weekly $10,000 first place prize to the funniest or most unusual video as voted upon by the in-studio audience. Those prizewinners then move on to the next competition round where they vie for a $100,000 prize. At the end of the season, the three $100,000 prizewinners compete for a Grand Prize vacation package. In its 21 seasons to date, AFV has given away over $11 million in prize money and collected close to one million video submissions.

AFV is ABC’s longest running primetime entertainment show and has become an iconic part of American pop culture, as evidenced by it’s entry into the Smithsonian’s permanent entertainment collection. AFV has been nominated twice for a Nickleodeon Kids’ Choice Award. Today, AFV is syndicated in over 50 countries around the world, spreading American humor and clumsiness across the globe!
