Season after season, when I´m updating the lists of cancelled shows of 2012 and renewed shows of 2012; this one always got put into the renewed shows list. Now it´s different, as MTV decided to cancel Jersey Shore when the following season ends.
Official release from the cabler read: MTV Announces the Final Season of Pop Culture Phenomenon Jersey Shore with season six marking the final summer in seaside premiering on Thursday October 4th at 10PM
Jersey Shore is cancelled but that does not mean that MTV won´t squeeze as much juice out of the final season as it can, since MTV will kick-off a season’s worth of celebratory “Jersey Shore” farewell programming beginning Thursday, September 6, leading up to the night’s “2012 MTV Video Music Awards ”at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, that includes.
But why is MTV cancelling Jersey Shore? Isn´t it still a good fit for the network? Well, yes, that´s why they are squeezing this last season as much as possible, but Deadline explains it better as to why MTV cancelled Jersey Shore:
With some of its stars off to topline their own spinoffs and start a family, ratings starting to come down to earth and cast salary demands escalating, MTV is ending its blockbuster reality show Jersey Shore.
So, there you have it. MTV cancels Jersey Shore, the question remaining is… how long until nobody remembers these kids?
What do you think? Are you sad or happy MTV cancelled Jersey Shore? Let me know in the comments section.

I am definitely not sad that this show is finally coming to an end. I was beginning to think that the Jersey Shore would out live us all. LOL! I know there are still going to be a ton of people upset about this news, my roommates included. I’m just lucky that we upgraded to the Hopper DVR just in time for this last season, which has three independent tuners, so I can watch my shows while they enjoy their Jersey loud-mouths. Thank goodness because I was really sick of hiding out in my office at Dish every Thursday. Good riddance!
