It´s a new year, and as the Mayans predicted, the world is coming to an end. That may not prove to be true yet, but it is still time to start new lists for cancelled shows for 2012 and renewed shows for 2012.
And 2012 has brought the axe for shows I didn´t expect to see going: Hallmark cancels The Martha Stewart Show, and it will finish its run on May 2012 to enter the pantheon of daytime TV.
The daily show from Martha is in its fifth season and had gained 18% in the ratings, but that proved not to be enough. According to what EW published, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and Hallmark Channel are in discussions about potential new show formats and concepts for daytime.
The show is only in its second season on Hallmark, after three runs as a syndicated show, and is fresh out of a couple of Daytime Emmys in its newest home.
Anyways Hallmark Channel decided to cancel The Martha Stewart Show, and there is maybe the hope for the show to go back to a syndicated model.
What do you think? Are you sad Hallmark cancelled The Martha Stewart Show? Let me know in the comments section.

Today is January 19th, 2012 and I
have just learned Hallmark has
cancelled Martha’s Show! How Sad! It was a show that just wasn’t entertaining; it was BRILLIANT; just like Martha…..
You never knew what to expect;
it was a learning show as well; so
sorely needed in these times with
no employment; no inexpensive,
clean and well formulated material, or at least very little on
tv as we know it…. Martha brought
us Mad Hungry for one….. Don’t
kill the Golden Goose (No insult
intended Martha!) We need her ideas!! She teaches…. no
classroom… but in her heart, THAT is what Martha is…. WE NEED HER ON T.V.!!! QUALITY
OVER QUANTITY….. Thank you,
and thank you, Martha! MJM
