UPDATE: Somewhat good news. CW has went a little back in the decision of cancelling Life Unexpected and moved it into more of a bubble show. (There are still big signs that it will get cancelled: Kris Polaha has a contract with another channel, Lux herself Brittany Robertson has been cast for Secret Circle), but they are seeing a lot of movement from the fans and will make a decision later.

UPDATE: Life Unexpected Star Kristopher Polaha signed a deal for a new show with CBS, and LUX creator Liz Tigelaar signed a multi year deal with ABC. This certainly puts the final nails in the coffin for the show, and it´s only missing official confirmation, that Life Unexpected is cancelled after two seasons.
UPDATE: The CW has not order back episodes for the second season, making it a 13 episode second (and probably final) season. Since Rating are making it CW´s least watched original show. Update: Still unofficial, but according to Michael Ausiello, CW is strongly considering a second season renewal for Life Unexpected. A 12 episode second season of Life Unexpected to be precise.

The CW was giving the good news earlier this week. But Life Unexpected wasn´t announced as one of the renewed shows by CW.
So, what´s going to happen?
Life Unexpected is renewed for a second season by The CW although this is not yet official.
Why? Let´s see what Dawn Ostroff, President of The CW told Kristen Dos Santos, where she said how happy the network is with the show, leading to a certain renewal of Life Unexpected by The CW.
This is a fragment of Sawn Ostroff and Kristen dos Santos dialog: “Creatively, Life Unexpected is in a great place, and it’s doing well. It had a really good night last night, and we’ve been airing it twice a week, and we get as many viewers sometimes on the second run as we do on the first run—it’s not duplicated viewers, it’s new viewers. LUX is actually doing quite well for us. We’re very proud of the show.” So come on, Ostroff, tell us true: What are Life Unexpected’s chances at renewal? “I would say it’s got a real shot at this point.” Whoo-hoo!

I REALLY hope Life Unexpected Stays around for the Long Haul. The actors/actresses are awesome and fresh, the show isnt too Soap Opery and not to “reality”….its a nice balanced “Life” show that is great to watch, keep the new ones Coming.

I LOVE THE SHOW!!!! it has to come back next season!!! I think there is just a lot of Competition, but Life Unexpected is just as entertaining and superbly written as anyother top rated show on TV. I know a ton more people that just started to watch it. CW would be crazy not to bring it back.

OMG: Please dont cancel my favorite show. Since life Unexpected started Ive seen every episode and it is sooooooo good. I love this show because its about real life situations that happens alot. If this show was cancelled I think I would stop watching TV all together so serious. I’m not sure if I want the series to be renewed. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love it, but thats the reason why I’m not sure. Its a great show so far, but my worry is that if it gets a second season will it stay that way? How long can they push the Base-Cait-Ryan triangle before it breaks? If they put too much into building that issue, thats going to take over the show entirely and it will lose the good feel that it has. Do we want an escalatingly dramatic soap opera?
So many times with a second season writers are forced to bend to the whims of the network on what it thinks will please the veiwers most. When that happens the heart of the show dies. Some of the best series are the ones that got cancelled; that were preserved in thier innocence, so to speak. Or the ones that did what they felt best inspite of the network/veiwer pressure. I fear that pressure to heighten certain character tensions, and develope other relationship conflicts might corrupt the show. I personally wouldn’t want to see that happen. What good is it to get a second season if it turns out to be no good? That will just make this one of those shows that “started off great, but” rather than a show that just is, in fact, great.

Going into i wasn’t expecting much but i am hooked and i think that says a lot. I have never been excited like this to watch any show. Life unexpected is one of the best shows on prime time. If it were to be cancelled I would be very disappointed. One Tree Hill is already ending it’s series, All the Monday night shows are leaving, C.W.’s ratting for Monday’s will be below the charts.
Most the time the first season on any shows have poor ratting, the second season alway gets better ratting, give Life Unexpected the chance to prove us wrong. It’s one of the best shows, it tops most C.W. shows!!

Please renew this show. It IS a cross between Juno and Gilmore Girls… If they can renew “Parenthood”.. OMG this show 100X better than that mess. I enjoyed watching this with my daughters and it was great from the start. Never an episode we didn’t enjoy. This is a great show, we watch with our hot chocolates and hot chocolate chip cookies. Its a good one and it gets my family together.

I watched the show every week until my antenna would not pick up CW 53 channel anymore. I borrowed a TV and got an antenna for it so I could watch this show upstairs. The reception is a lot better upstairs. I would like to watch the repeats if you have them on from previous aired shows as I missed a few of the shows. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep this show going.

Why must all the good shows get cancelled? This is exactly why this is the only new show I’m watching. Garbage lasts longer on the set than quality shows like this one. Yes, I will most certainly be sticking to only watching shows that already have at least 2 seasons in counting… never watching a new show ever again for this station or any other non-cable broadcast networks!

I love this show sooooooo much. I’ve watched it from the beginning. And haven’t missed an episode at all. I watch it with my mom. It’s our show. It’s the greatest show i’ve ever watched because i can relate to it. Many people can. It has real life situations. Has relationships and friendships and breakups and get back togethers. So many people can relate to the situations that the characters in Life Unexpected go through, and it helps people go through what they’re going through in the show. It’s an amazing show and the only show i really watch on TV anymore. Ever since the show started i haven’t found anything better to watch. It is an amazing show and i REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY hope it doesn’t get canceled. It’s an amazing show overall. Please don’t cancel Life Unexpected. Please renew the show.

There are so few quality shows, I have really appreciated the deep look into these lives. I’ve been so happy they finally put the constant bickering between Ryan and Kate on the back burner and started exploring Lux’s past, about which we’ve known so little. I’m more than ready to know lots more about these intriguing characters. Please don’t cancel.

I hope this show doesn’t get cancled…I just recently heard about it and have caught up on all the episodes…this is my favorite show…at least keep it going for two more seasons…Lux hasn’t even called Cate mom…I hope this show continues for a long time. Life Unexpected is one of the best shows on primetime. Please do not cancel it. I look forward to the shows. They are so realistic. They cover real life situations and you never know how they are to turn out. The season finale was awesome. You have to have another season so that we see what lead up to everyone ending up with the partners they did. This was definately “unexpected”.

i hope life unexpected doesn’t get canceled in fact i just saw the finale and was so confused i really feel that this show spoke to me in so many ways. it was more realistic then most teen drama’s you see on tv.This show is a good show that is teen and family orientated. its not the most shows you see on tv its not all about “who stole my bf” every subject was handled in such a mature matter ireally hope the CW re-thinks theyre decision because it would be such a shame to let so many people who do like the show down its only the 2nd season so much more can happen and i think so much more should life unexpected is a show that i personally feel that everyone can relate to because no ones lives are perfect and i feel lux character is soo importaint because so many teens live and grown up with troubled lives and this show gives them hope and inspiration. it shows teens that its okay to feel not normal sometimes and most of all it shows that theyre is more to life then just sex drugs money and boys but most of all it shows that life is unexpected so PLEASE CW consider giving it another chance for all those who want / need this show :)-Amanda D.
This wonderful show was one of the few shows left I watched on network TV. The quality stories and acting always left me waiting for next week. I just watched the last episode, and now its gone. You see, there just wasn’t enough of us watching it to keep it on the air. As one of the original TV generation of kids, I must share with all of you an unfortunate fact about the future of television: when you have 200 channels to choose from, there is NO WAY that a show can attract enough of an audience week after week to keep it on the air. The rare shows of high quality like this will never make it past one season, because of the overabundance of choices to the audience, a more limited attention span by the viewers, and that doesn’t even include pre-recorded shows and movies on DVD, DVR, TIVO, etc. Too much of a good thing is killing TV, and now we have one less fine show to watch. Goodbye, “Life unexpected”.

Is Life Unexpected really getting cancelled? I just watch the season finally and yeah it was a little corky but it a decent show? CW you are crazy to let this show go and if you do I hope another network would pick it up. The CW show are good but this specific one if different. I can never watch it the night it airs so i record it on my dvr. Sad times if you do cancell it.

Please don’t cancel this show. It has been a favorite of mine since it first started. I love the way it shows how life throws us curves and is so unexpected sometimes. We get to see how this family deals with it. The situations are very credible and so are the actors, who also have great chemistry. I love Lux and love Baze. Please keep this show going. I can’t imagine why the ratings have dropped, but I know there are so many of us who will truly miss it for so many reasons if it gets cancelled.

Hi, I love Life Unexpected. When I saw the first commercial for it I was so in love with it. Because it was original. I have heard resently that they won’t be making a third season. I just watched the finale lastnight.. & I truly loved it, but I wish for it to continue so badly. This is my favorite show, and I truly believe that there is a million people in this world that would agree with me. I’ve watched my share of tv shows like this.. but this is TRULY the best! I LOVE IT!

LUX is one of very few shows that have grabbed me in recent years. The writing is excellent, the story lines are even better and I have made watching it a priorty every week.
There are many shows on tv that don’t deserve to be there, but this one definitely does. Keep it on the air!!!!!!

Please renew, or some station pick it up. I would love to see what happens in those 2 years prior to the last episode that aired. I am 45 year old female and watch it with my daughter who is 19. She has gotten her friends to start to watch it. We love it. People all over the world love this show. Look at facebook and the fans. I have started watching many new shows only to see them get cancelled. This is the first time I am showing my support. I will not watch any “New” shows again. you get involved in the characters and story line and poof you just cancel. You only gave it 2 seasons. THE SHOW IS CATCHING ON! It never had the publicity of other shows and still people found it. Please, do NOT cancel this show. It is one of the few that remains that is about family and it reaches several generations.

I was sad to watch the last show I cried and cried. It is LIFE. Not a fairy tale on rich kids. I love Life Unexpected. Please bring it back.
This is an amazing show, please keep it. This is one of the few show my husband and I watch together. I just don’t understand how this show gets cut and some of the other trash we see on TV stays. I know plenty of people that can relate to this show.
This show was AMAZING!!!! the so called ending might have fit if we got to watch the show the full length taht was intended but this episode made me mad. I eve tried to re-watch the finale and got mad! It made Ryan look horrible and he was the great man everyone wanted, and we weren’t ready for Kate and Baize to get back together and who the eff cared about Matt? And why oh why did Lux end up with Abercrombie? because he’s the only other guy we knew. Again these ending might have made sense if the show went on the way it was intended but it didnt and the endings SUCKED as it stands. Bring it back and change it all around caue this is a great show and IF 7th Heaven can come back and THE GAME comes back after 2 years of being dropped then this much fan opinion should bring back an amazing show like Life unexpected. This show is amazing and I am not a big fan of recent American TV shows. I am French and the shows we got here from the US very often are bad quality: bad gross comedies or big goofy romances (often with vampires).
Life Unexpected is based on a touching no ordinary story with ordinary characters dealing with very common issues in a very intelligent way. To people like me trying to grow up, struggling to get out from our childhood and timidly step into grown ups’ world, this show is like a therapy helping to understand our feelings and emotions through well written dialogues.
Unfortunately for this one we are too late.
Kris Polaha (Nate) has already signed a contract with another network, same as happened to the creator of the show.
Unfortunately Life Unexpected got a Cancellation Unexpected too
Please read my post (#93). Back in 1968, thousands of people across the country (including myself), wrote letters to NBC and Paramount Studios to save a weird, esoteric show named “Star Trek”. By doing so, we helped to keep it on the air for one more season. People now have 150 to 200 channels to choose from on satellite TV, in addition to watching DVD’s, playing video games, or viewing shows recorded earlier to view at a later date. IF YOU WANT TO SAVE A SHOW…a heck of alot of people have to make their opinions heard BEFORE the advertisers disappear and the axe falls on the production. There are several fine websites dedicated to TV viewers (like this one), who pass on our opinions, but they can’t help us save a show AFTER it has been cancelled and the actors have gotten other jobs. It was easier back in the old days when we had like 10 or 12 stations to watch in total. Such is today’s reality.
Life Unexpected is AWSOME!! I hope there is gonna be a third season. The show is refreshing and cast is really great!
Please don’t cancel it!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!! Don’t cancel this show! I look forward to this every week. I am a 33yr. old mother of four and when this show comes on it is ME time. I slip away to my room and shut the door, for the best hour of my week.!!!! Don’t get me wrong I love my kids but I also love this show!!! LOL! Sp please keep it going for us HARD CORE fans!!!

I love LUX You have got to keep this show going im sure the ratings will go up and the viewers will increase dramatically the word is definatey spreading about this show! Please give us one more season!!!!! PLEASE! You wont be sorry!!
This show better not get cancelled it is one of my fav shows it is funny and serious and its just sooo good i love the show and if it gets cancelled i will be sooo mad it is more realistic than most of the shows on tv and better not be cancelled!!!!!!

EVERY SINGLE episode ffrom the two seasons & i FELL in LOVE from the first episode / PLEASE dont cancel . Its the BEST show on the CW.
I just saw the entire two seasons in a week on Netflix. I never even heard of this show before that, but if I did I would have totally supported it. I hope another network picks it up, I love every single one of the characters. So sad that it will not continue…
Overall, this show has taught me a lot of different things that are too much to write. But Life Unexpected deserves more than just 2 seasons. I see more potential in this show than in any other show and Britt Robertson captures the character of Lux so well. When I watch this show, I can put myself in Lux’s shoes and feel the way she does along with Shiri Appleby. This is my favorite show and Britt Robertson is my favorite actress, I’d like to see more of her and Life Unexpected.
This show is fantastic, they need to bring it back, we all want to see more, it is by far my favorite, the cast works so well together, we enjoyed every episode!!! Hope to see it come back. I didn’t even know it existed until I found it on NETFLIX. We want more!!!

life unexpected is seriously the best show i have ever watched. That is what i did all weekend, i watched this show both seasons that is about 20 hours of my life i will never get back, this was honestly the best show ive watched im only 16 and i fell in love. i can really relate and it has a great plot i am in love. please never cancel this show. EVER. i dont know what i would do.

I have been waiting to hear any definative news about Life Unexpected for ages now. I have really enjoyed this show more than any others in a long time(TNT”the closer” comes second). It has shown some pretty real issues for lots of kids growing up tough that can really help these kids by letting them know that they truely aren’t alone out there. Wish I could’ve known that when I was orphaned at age 14 and living on my own; Might have made a big difference for me and maybe I could’ve done alot better in my life!
I really want another season of this show!! It was really true for me & I became addicted when I found it on Netflix. I’ve watched all of 2 seasons about 3 times. I want more!!

I love this show, Thanks to Netflix i got to see the two seasons. If I would have known it was on t.v i would have watched it and stuck with it. Every episode makes me cry, laugh. Best Show!
