When is Live to Dance – Paula Abdul Dance Show premiering?

CBS’ reality-competition series Live to Dance starring former American Idol judge Paul Abdul will premiere on Tuesday, Jan. 4 with a two-hour episode from 8-10 PM and move to its regular Wednesday 8-9 PM time period the following night, Jan. 5. It will fill in for Survivor, bridging the veteran reality series’ two cycles. Starting on Jan. 12, the 18 dance act finalists on Live to Dance will compete live for 3 weeks leading to the grand finale that will determine the champion and recipient of a $500,000 prize.

How to select music to audition for Paula Abdul Dance Show?

Music selection is essential to a great performance so folks at Paula Abdul Dance Show would advise you to think really carefully about your choices. Remember you’re not only performing for the experts but also for America so you should try to pick music that will resonate in the audition dome and through the TV set!

Think along these lines:

Top 40 charts…
Songs that you would hear on the radio…
Classic hits from the worlds of Rock/Pop/Disco/Funk/Soul/Country/Hip-Hop/Rap/60’s/70’s/80’s/90’s/Dance
Songs that move you or have extra special meaning to you and your act
Think about using music in your act in a unique and original way. Why not fuse a style of music to your dance that will be original, entertaining and creative!
Please also note that NO lewd or offensive language is allowed in your choices.
A general rule to remember is that the more well known and popular the song, the better it may resonate on the show. We encourage you to pick popular music for at least part of your performance.
