HGTV is bringing us a great behind the scenes look of the upcoming October 4 premiere issue of HGTV Magazine, We can watch The Making of Our Magazine on Saturday, September 24 at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
The one-hour special hosted by the network’s popular designer Genevieve Gorder captures the energy and excitement as editors at Hearst Magazines, one of the world’s largest publishers of monthly magazines, brainstorm story ideas, plan photo shoots, and interview the network’s biggest stars to create HGTV Magazine, a visually-stunning and idea-rich home and lifestyle publication.
I had the chance to preview this and I can tell you five things, so I don´t spoil it all:
1- One of the first things you´ll hear is: “Launching a magazine is exhilarating and stressful”. And that sets the tone for everything.
2- You´ll enter Hearst Headquarters, and you´ll see that there´s so many people involved in making a magazine like HGTV´s!
3- You´ll see what it takes to film an episode of Dear Genevieve, told by Genevieve herself, and how is the whole process to shoot it
4- You´ll see what happens before HGTV Design Star show starts. And how they make a cohesive opening promo
5- You´ll meet the “Layout Wall”
And I only talked about the first fifteen minutes! But I don´t want to spoil it. You´ll need to watch the rest.
