After a new episode of The Walking Dead, AMC premiered its newest addition to a great Sunday lineup: Into The Badlands. An action packed new drama that right from the bat went to a bloody scene to set the tone of the show.
In the first few seconds we hear the off voice say: “This world is built on blood… welcome to the Badlands”, all while watching a sword yielding warrior ride a motorcycle.
I´m sold and we are only one minute into the show. Then, less than five minutes into the show, comes the first fight scene… man this show is going to be awesome, and we just found the newest kickass on town!
Into the Badlands is a genre-bending martial arts series very loosely based on the classic Chinese tale Journey to the West. In a land controlled by feudal barons, Into the Badlands tells the story of a great warrior and a young boy who embark on a journey across a dangerous land to find enlightenment.
A fight between the fighter twenty bad guys in the same scene, with no mercy for anyone. And after the last killing, the main credits sequence.
You must start watching this show, the cinematography is amazing, the filming is gorgeous, and the action is impeccable.and we still don´t know the story at all at this point… but we don´t care, the show is compelling anyways.
I don´t want to spoil the pilot and premiere if you didn´t watch it yet, but I´m going to go all out and say that Into The Badlands is Dystopia at its finest. An awesome new show that should join anyone´s to watch list.
