This is an iconic spot. No doubt about it. But be sure about something. It´s not for everybody. After all, having a vacation in Orlando is all about flash and dash, and NASA Kennedy Space Center has many things about historical moments, and details about the space race. In the case of my trip there, I was indeed fascinated, but my girlfriend was ready to go after only a couple of hours. And that´s the thing… If you are not interested in it, you shouldn´t even make the drive as it won´t be worth it for you. But, if space stuff and science is something that spikes your interest you´ll want to stay all day and look at everything.

For the little ones there is a whole Angry Birds section, but I am not sure that little kids will enjoy the visit so much. I´d say teens and up are best suited for this experience.
Some tips:
– You will have an hour-ish car ride from Orlando, as it is 50 miles away from the city. So make sure you are really interested in it before jumping in the car. GPS Coordenates for the Parking Area: 28o31’34.10?N 80o40’45.12?W.
– What was funny was seeing a couple aligators strolling around the area, so with a little luck, you´ll also get a nature sightseeing tour.
– Since NASA Kennedy Space Center is inside a military base, you won´t find restaurants outside the Space Center. Even though they may be a tad over the prices in other spots, you´ll find varied menues and reasonable prices still.
– Souvenirs are everywhere, but, unless you are looking for something special, I wouldn´t go for the T-Shirts, as you´ll find them everywhere in Orlando for half the amount.
– There is little to no shadow in there. Make sure to bring a hat or cap and use solar protection.
– Do not Miss Atlantis, nor the launching spot tour!
