HGTV Design Star is back for the seventh season and as they say, big as hell, twice as ugly. Not really ugly, but the competition is tougher than ever before.
The show is hosted by the winner of Season One, David Bromstad, who is also back in the show as mentor for the second time. Each week HGTV designers Genevieve Gorder and Vern Yip must make a decision whom to eliminate. In the beginning there are 12 contestants, each good at their own things – some of them are talented interior designers, some stylists, some artists. They must show the judges their star quality on-camera and create innovative and inventive designs to make sure they are the ones not being eliminated.
Obviously, making those elimination decision is not an easy task, so to make Geneve’s and Vern’s decision-making process just a bit easier, each week they are joined by celebrity judges such as Kardashian mom Kris Jenner, Vanilla Ice (who doesn’t need any introductions) as well as Marg Helgenberger from CSI, just to mention a few names.
The show is premiering on Tuesday, May 29, at 9 p.m. ET/PT and the winner of the show will get his or her own HGTV design show.
