Today, comedy is mourning. One of the funniest men ever, and comedic icon specially in the eighties and nineties Leslie Nielsen died today at age 84.
Leslie Nielsen, The star of The Naked Gun trilogy and many more laughter films, passed away on Sunday at a hospital near his home in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where he was being treated for pneumonia, according to the New York Times. He was 84.

Leslie Nielsen was raised in Tulita (formerly Fort Norman), Northwest Territories. His father was a mountie and a strict disciplinarian. His mother was Welsh. Leslie studied at the Academy of Radio Arts in Toronto before moving on to New York’s Neighborhood Playhouse. His acting career started at a much earlier age when he was forced to lie to his father in order to avoid severe punishment. Leslie has starred in over fifty movies and many more TV films. One of his two brothers became the deputy prime minister of Canada. Leslie Nielsen died at age 84 in Ft Lauderdale.
Some of Leslie Nielsen´s trademark comedic chops were Delivering sophomoric punchlines with a deadpan expression, “Whoopee cushion” gags, Appearing oblivious to everything that’s happening around him.
Rest in peace Leslie Nielsen. Comedy will miss you.
