Hero Dog Awards on Hallmark Channel November 11

Hallmark Channel announced today that international film star Ewan McGregor (“The Beginners”) will join actress, comedian, and author Betty White (“Hot in Cleveland”) on stage as a celebrity presenter, while film, stage, and television actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth (“Glee”, “Pushing Daisies”) and  health and wellness expert Jillian Michaels (“The Doctors”, “Dr. Phil”) will join Whoopi Goldberg, among others, as celebrity judges for the inaugural American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards™, which will premiere as a 90-minute original special on Hallmark Channel, Friday, November 11 (8 p.m. ET/PT, 7C).

“I promote lifelong, healthy relationships between dogs and people both on camera and in my everyday life.  Healthy, happy pets mean longer lives for many people.  It’s just something that I believe.  I was thrilled to lend my name to the American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards® as one of the celebrity judges,” says Michaels.  “I am truly honored to be a part of this very special program.”

Presented by CESAR® Canine Cuisine and produced by Emmy® Award winning MRB Productions, the American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards involves a nationwide search for and tribute to America’s top dogs, which will culminate in a red carpet, star-studded awards gala in Beverly Hills on October 1.  At the event, one dog from each of eight categories — Law Enforcement and Arson Dogs; Service Dogs; Therapy Dogs; Military Dogs; Guide Dogs; Search and Rescue Dogs; Hearing Dogs, Emerging Hero Dogs (ordinary pets who do extraordinary things) – will be presented with an award and have their story told in a moving video tribute.  Voting is currently underway at www.herodogawards.org.

In addition to honoring the eight category winners, canine superstar Rin Tin Tin, who bravely served the U.S. Military during World War I and went on to become an American icon and movie idol, will be recognized with a special “Legacy Award,” presented to one of his direct descendants, along with the dog’s human handler.  A scripted tribute, retelling Rin Tin Tin’s incredible journey from war orphan to one of the most famous dogs on the planet, will be narrated by beloved actor and comedian Mickey Rooney.

What do you think about the Hero Dog Awards star judges lineup? Will you watch Hero Dog Awards on November 11 on Hallmark? Let me know in the comments section.

Pay it (link it) Forward #Meme style #linkitforward

Well, you all surely saw Pay it Forward, a heart warming film with Haley Joel Osment, Helen Hunt and Kevin Spaceyin which the whole concept was doing good and paying it forward, and whenever someone gets in debt with you because of a favour, he/she would pay it fprward, instead of paying it back.

Well, today I´m in a Haley Joel Osment kind of spirit and I thought about kickstarting a little Pay it Forward kind of #meme Although it´s not a meme, and it´s not a payment.

It´s a link it forward experiment initiative, in which I´ll start by handing out five outgoing dofollow links to sites I think are deserving because of the good quality they have, and the good job they are making. I´ll be doing it by highlighting a particular article I like and link it with optimized keywords. Why again? Because I´ll reward good content creators with good quality material.

Wether they continue this sort of #meme or not, it´s entirely up to them, although I really encourage them to do it by paying it (linking it) forward.

Somewhere along the line, someone perhaps will think I am the one doing a good job in terms of quality and content and reward me with a link or not. That´s up to the universe and the bloggers. All this is is an initiative to pay it (link it) forward.

So we can all recommend good content, good sites and we all can discover and help the blogging ecosystem become better by rewarding good content creators.

What is it that I do ask?

Please put #linkitforward as a hashtag when you post it or tweet it, so we can keep track and discover the sites along the way.

Hopefully this won´t end up here

My Five recommended articles to kickstart the #linkitforward thing!

I´ll do it in three different areas today

I´ll do five in my niche: Five Entertainment #linkitforward rewards

Confessions of an ACA / Fan: Henry Jenkins, a professor at USC analyzes the aspects of fandom. I´d like him in my documentary I must say!

The Daily Actor – Blog for actors: Lance Carter is an actor who often get gigs on TV, and he takes us BTS and to the interviews he conducts.

TV Writer Podcast: Gray Jones takes us through great video podcasts about TV Writers and writing. It´s a delight to watch. He also compiled twitter lists for tv writers.

Diana Madison, Queen of Red Carpet: She has a big big site of her own called Hollyscoop, but the site named after herself deserves many more visitors than currently has.

Sitcoms Online: They are probably the best ones around when sitcoms is the matter.

I´ll do five in my native language: Five Spanish #linkitforward rewards

I´ll do five of whatever I find interesting: Five General #linkitforward rewards

Spurs Basketball Analysis by 48 minutes of Hell: Those guys put an effort in every article to write a great blog about basketball and my Spurs.

KD Payne Measurement Blog: She´s the Queen of Measurement and makes things about how to measure buzz interesting to read.

Photoshop Disasters: The articles are so short, a picture and an epigraph, but you´ll get stuck to it for minutes and minutes enjoying those little gems they are able to find

People of Wal Mart: Another great short blog. Photos and epigraphs, but I challenge you to be able to check only one post. You won´t be able to!

Knocked Up Celebs: Taylor Blue writes a very upbeat kind of blog, with nothing but nice words to everybody.

Will you enter #linkitforward ? If you are one of those I linked, please continue it; if you are not and want to join, you are welcome to do it! (I ended up doing fifteen, mainly to kick start it… you can do five)
