Still talking about FX, where already FX renewed Wilfred US and FX renewed Louie, but now, for the histroy making part of the announcement: FX renewed It´s Always Sunny in Philadelphia for seasons eight and nine, making it the longer running scripted comedy in basic cable history when it reached that ninth season, and FX also has the option for a tenth season.
If you have Danny DeVito on board, on a great show that´s the comedy flagship of your network, why wouldn´t you renew it, right? Well, it seems folks at FX thought the same, and gave an upfront renewal of two seasons for It´s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, leaving Philly even more Sunny.
The Devitos are on a roll, since not only It´s Always Sunny in Philadelphia gets renewed, but Melissa and Joey got renewed too, and there it´s Danny´s daughter Lucy plays Stephanie, Melissa´s assistant.
