extreme-makeover-home-edition-cancelled-renewed-abcWe are near closing the doors on 2011 but info still coming to fill the renewed shows on 2011 and all the cancelled shows on 2011 lists.

In this case, a shocker: ABC cancels Extreme Makeover Home Edition after nine seasons of air.

The show has been a reality television juggernaut, landing a whooping 16 million viewers in its second season, but sliding since, having this season as the worst in the ratings, after the network moved the show to Fridays managing to get between 5 and 6 million viewers. It even marks one of the few cases in which the spinoff is way more popular and successful than the original show.

The episode 200th will air in January 13th and will be season finale of the now cancelled Extreme Makeover Home Edition, but, same as it was announced with Americas Most Wanted cancellation by Fox, the show will have four specials in 2012, one per quarter.

This one I really did not see coming, since it is normally a given to have a new season of the show.

Ty Pennington after the cancellation of Extreme Makeover Home Edition is still under contract with ABC and moves his services to Tim Gunn´s The Revolution.
