We are reviewing all the cancelled shows and renewed shows of 2011. We already told you about Southland renewal last season. And we anticipated Southland was getting a fourth season renewal from TNT. Well, today it´s official. TNT renews Southland for season four.

In the official announcement, Michael Wright, executive vice president and head of programming for TNT  said: “John Wells, Chris Chulack and their teams created a brilliant roller coaster ride this season, with countless riveting scenes and unforgettable character arcs,”

The show averaged 2.9 million viewers during its most recent run, a 6 percent improvement over Season 2. And apparently managed to find a home at TNT. Let´s remember that Southland survived cancellation when NBC dropped it, but TNT picked the second season up… and from then on, it thrived on TNT.

Fourth season renewal order for Southland consists in ten episodes, and that is probably good sign too. The show´s been great creatively so far.
