Hallmark Hall of Fame films will air on ABC

hallmark-hall-of-fame-abcHallmark´s been home for many many years of great family entertainment, and Hallmark announced today a multi-year deal, beginning with the 2011-2012 TV season, to premiere Hallmark Hall of Fame movies exclusively on the ABC Television Network with encore broadcasts a week later on Hallmark Channel.

“We’re delighted our movies will premiere exclusively on ABC starting with our 61st television season,” said Brad Moore, president – Hallmark Hall of Fame.  “Since our very first talks with ABC last year we’ve looked forward to this announcement.  Our agreement to follow ABC premieres with encores on Hallmark Channel is an exciting, unprecedented use of broadcast and cable.”

“A week after the Hallmark Hall of Fame network premiere on ABC, Hallmark Channel will air four encore broadcasts over a week-long period,” said Bill Abbott, president, Crown Media Networks.  “This will bring even more exceptional, high-profile programming to our audience, and increase the viewership and impact of the Hallmark Hall of Fame series.  We’re delighted to be a partner.”

The first movie to premiere on ABC will be Mitch Albom’s Have a Little Faith, based on Albom’s best-selling book.  Albom also wrote the screenplay.  The movie, now being filmed in Michigan by Hallmark Hall of Fame Productions, is executive produced by Brent Shields and directed by Jon Avnet.  Laurence Fishburne, Bradley Whitford, and Martin Landau star.  The movie will air before Christmas.  ABC and Hallmark Channel will cross-promote this and subsequent telecasts.

During its 60-year history, the Hallmark Hall of Fame has been broadcast on ABC, NBC, and most recently CBS.  Previous presentations on ABC include Emmy award winning movies My Name is Bill W, starring James Woods and James Garner, and The Shell Seekers, starring Angela Lansbury.  Other previous Hallmark Hall of Fame presentations on ABC included A Place for Annie, staring Sissy Spacek, and Redwood Curtain, starring John Lithgow.

What is Expedition Impossible with Dave Salmoni about?

dave-salmoni-expedition-impossibleA new epic show is coming to our televisions, brought to us by reality TV mogul and genius Mark Burnett, responsible of so many hit TV Reality shows that one has stopped counting; one just watches; and it is coming to ABC this summer.

Expedition Impossible, a show where thirteen teams of ordinary people do the extraordinary in the biggest adventure of their lives as they set our on an excitinbg expedition through the fabled kingdom of Morocco.

“Expedition Impossible,” is premiering Thursday, June 23 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. The show features ordinary people doing the extraordinary in the biggest adventure of their lives. Adventurer, zoologist, big cat trainer and all around risk taker Dave Salmoni hosts the show.

“Expedition Impossible” follows 13 teams of 3, racing in a fun expedition across vast deserts, over snow capped mountains and through raging rivers in the beautifully exotic, fabled kingdom of Morocco. Each week a new stage of the expedition will be revealed to the teams. Will they crumble under the pressure of having to think clearly in the wilds of the great outdoors, or will they find a way to work together to complete their adventures? And if one person quits, the entire team is eliminated. After 10 stunning legs of competition with drama, comedy and great characters, one team will cross the finish line first to claim victory. Each winning team member will receive $50,000 ($150,000 total for the team) as well a new Ford Explorer.

On the premiere episode, “Sun! Sand! Sahara!,” the 13 teams of ordinary Americans set out on the adventure of a lifetime across the ancient kingdom of Morocco, battling rugged terrain, untamable animals and each other. After facing the sand dunes of the Sahara and the cliffs of Todra Gorge, one team will be eliminated.

“Expedition Impossible” was created by Mark Burnett, who also serves as executive producer with Lisa Hennessy. Both the television show and format will be distributed internationally by Mark Burnett International Distribution.

“Expedition Impossible” is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC’s selected HDTV format, with 5.1 channel surround sound. A TV parental guideline will be assigned closer to airdate.

Cancelled and Renewed Shows 2011: ABC renews Bachelor Pad for second season

And this one caught us a little off guard. It appears anything can be on TV. With so many good to great shows cancelled (See Firefly, Flashforward or Terriers) and not making it to a second season, ABC renews Bachelor Pad for a second season.

A show that has nothing to show us, but former Bachelor / Bachelorette contestants fooling around in games of skill and sexual depravity for a cash prize. I really do not like this move by ABC renewing Bachelor Pad, having so many shows on the bubble still.

But hey, what do I know. I´m just a reporter commenting on the news about ABC´s renewal on Bachelor Pad. They know why they do it. Probably the show ratings are holding fort and people watching is the main reason for a renewal order.

Cancelled and Renewed Shows 2011: Cougar Town renewed for third season by ABC

cougar-town-cancelled-renewed-season-three-abcWe are reviewing all the cancelled shows and renewed shows of 2011. And the year came out in its first week already giving way to a couple renewals. Second week of the year, is full of renewals. ABC renews Cougar Town for a third season. In this case, the same day as Pretty Little Liars renewal order for second season, Secret Life of the American Teenager renewal, Castle renewal, Grey´s Anatomy renewal, Private Practice renewal, Modern Family renewal and The Middle renewal. Cougar Town renewal for season three comes with no shock at all to anyone since the show is being solid in the ratings gaining 3%, and the last couple of seasons ABC did the whole comedy block pickup the same day.

We´ll get to see more of that great cast as we follow a show that only mistaken the name (And fortunately, even the show runner knows it and teases himself and the show). It´s probably alongside Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother the best sitcom ensemble. Want to hear your thoughts on this statement of mine.

In this case, the same day as Pretty Little Liars renewal order for second season, Secret Life of the American Teenager renewal, Castle renewal, Grey´s Anatomy renewal, Private Practice renewal, Modern Family renewal and Cougar Town renewal. The Middle renewal for season three comes with no shock at all to anyone since the show is being solid in the ratings, and the last couple of seasons ABC did the whole comedy block pickup the same day.

We´ll get to see more of that great cast as we follow the daily mishaps of a married woman and her semi-dysfunctional family and their attempts to survive life in general in the city of Orson, Indiana.

In this case, the same day as Pretty Little Liars renewal order for second season, Secret Life of the American Teenager renewal, Castle renewal, Grey´s Anatomy renewal, Private Practice renewal, The Middle renewal and Cougar Town renewal. Modern Family renewal for season three comes with no shock at all to anyone since Modern Family is the highest-rated comedy series on TV among adults 18-49. The most coveted ratings demo.

We´ll probably see some new crazy Phil Dunphy situation, some Gloria (and Sofia Vergara) showing she´s not just looks. And that Manny, oh that Manny, best kid in TV hands down, even with Luke as a quirky second place. Cameron and Mitchell becoming more and more the favourite couple on TV. What´s more to say about Modern Family?

What is for sure is we´ll get to see more hilarious stuff and much more Dunphys and Pritchetts.

In this case, the same day as Pretty Little Liars renewal order for second season, Secret Life of the American Teenager renewal, Castle renewal, Grey´s Anatomy renewal, Modern Family renewal, The Middle renewal and Cougar Town renewal. Private Practice renewal for season five comes with no shock at all to anyone since Private Practice is the highest-rated 10 PM series on ABC.

Maybe we´ll see a new crossover with Grey´s Anatomy, maybe we´ll see Charlotte and Cooper finally getting over the rape, maybe we´ll even see new characters added or perhaps a new heartbreaking moment as when Dell died.

What is for sure is we´ll get to see more Addison Montgomery drama and much more ShondaRhimesoness.
