Cancelled and Renewed Shows 2010: NBC renews Days of Our Lives

This fall season, a lot of shows are falling like crazy. NBC already cancelled Outlaw, ABC Family cancelled Huge, Fox cancelled Lone Star, ABC cancelled My Generation, and also cancelled The Whole Truth, and MTV cancelled The City in its second season, and HBO cancelled Big Love at its fifth and NBC cancelled Undercovers, and Supernanny gets cancelled so Jo Frost can move on.

Some are getting renewed, since HBO renews Eastbound & Down for season three, and also renews Bored to Death for season three and TLC renewed Sister Wives.

And in this case, good news for daily soap opera lovers. Days of our lives gets renewed for two more years. NBC renewed Days of Our Lives through 2013, “Days of our Lives remains vitally creative through the years as it continues to draw new generations of viewers, especially among its loyal female audience” said NBCU TV Entertainment chairman Jeff Gaspin.

This season of Days of Our Lives is averaging 2.6 million viewers, gaining the show a renewal order.

Two more years on Days of our lives renewal order. Not bad for a 45 years old veteran.

And as we said while talking about 30 Rock being renewed, The Office getting renewed and The Community being renewed, NBC was the one giving away the news.

This time for the long time running show Days of Our Lives renewal.

The show started in 1965 and it keeps rolling… Now, it´s on a 45th season order to run through 2010-2011.

Once again, it´s celebrities birthday time:

  • Joey Luthman, from Weeds and Private Practice is turning 12.
  • Kacey Barnfield, Maddie Gilks in Grange Hill is now 21.
  • Zach Gilford who plays Matt Saracen in Friday Night Lights is turning 27.
  • James Scott, EJ DiMera for 347 episodes of Days of Our Lives is turning 30.
  • Kevin Durand, oh so mean one in TV Hit series Lost, Sergeant Martin Keamy is now 35.
  • Arrested Development Star Jason Bateman, who was also child star in Little House in the Praire, playing James Cooper Ingalls is reaching 40.
  • Multitalented L.L. Cool J., who played Clarence, a death row patient in an episode of House MD is turning 41.
  • Oh so great actress Emily Watson is turning 42. She was twoce nominated to an academy award for leading actress in 1997 and 1999.
  • Steven Soderbergh, director, writer  and producer of many great movies, best director academy award winner for Traffic and nominee for Erin Brockovich is now 46.
  • Carl Weathers, A.K.A. Apollo the Creed, the star of both Street Justice and In the Heat of the Night is turning 61.
  • Holland Taylor, one of the greatest sitcom supporting ladies ever, especially for roles such as Evelyn Harper in Two and a Half Men, Camilla Dane in The Naked Truth, and Judge Roberta Kittleson in The Practice is now 66.
  • Legendary actress Faye Dunaway from films such as Chinatown, Mommy Dearest, Bonnie and Clyde and Don Juan deMarco is turning 68.

Alison Sweeney from “Days of Our Lives” returns as host of the series, which challenges and encourages overweight contestants to shed pounds in a safe and recommended manner through comprehensive diet and exercise as they compete for a grand prize of $250,000.

But how can I participate from The Biggest Loser?

NBC’S THE BIGGEST LOSER IS NOW CASTING!

NBC is searching the country for outgoing and charismatic contestants who are ready to shed pounds once and for all and compete to win  $250,000!!

In order to be in the next season of The Biggest Loser you need to send your application and videotape As soon as possible.

First of all, You must be at least 18 years of age and a legal resident of the U.S.
And you can audition with a partner or on your own!

How to Apply:

Step 1: Download the application – CLICK HERE
Step 2: Make a videotape (only VHS, DVD or MINI DV will be accepted) and take a photo of yourself and include it with your application.
Step 3: Mail the application, photo and tape to the Biggest Loser production.

What to include in your 10 MINUTE videotape:

Show NBC folks why you should be on The Biggest Loser. Make your video as personal as possible. Start with your name, age, hometown, height and weight. Take them on a tour of your typical day at work and home. Let us them know (and see) why losing the weight is so important to you! Show them, don’t just tell them, why you need to lose the weight. And, Remember, they want to see your personality. Have fun and good luck!

Dyan Cannon turns 72 and other birthdays

Today is a day filled of birthdays…

Let´s see who:

dyan-cannonDyan Cannon is turning 72. The blonde actress was very famous in the Series and Television world when she portrayed Judge Whipper Cone in the megahit TV Show Ally McBeal, and also, the same character in The Practice, another attorneys show contemporary to Ally McBeal. She was 62 when she played a nude scene in Ally McBeal and she was still great looking. Happy Birthday Dyan Cannon.

Julia Ormond is turning 44 years old also today. She was the actress of movies such as Sabrina, Legends of The Fall, and Che, El Argentino. She also played Gillian Whitmore in TV Episode My Name is Mac Taylor, of TV Hit Show CSI: NY, along with a long movie career both in the US and in Europe.

Rick Hearst is also turning 44 years old. He has a long TV Shows career, playing roles such as Ric Lansing in General Hospital, or Whipple ‘Whip’ Jones III in The Bold and the Beautiful, and Matt Clark in The Young and the Restless, among other roles in soap operas including Beverly Hills 90210 and Days of Our Lives.

Brett Fancy is a year older, and just turned 45. He played Bird in East Enders and Johnny Lupus in The Last Salute.

dave-foleyDave Foley, the star of Newsradio turned 46. He was also known for his role in Will & Grace as Stuart Lamarack, and his many many characters in Kids in the Hall, a classic comedy show. He also was the presenter of Celebrity Poker Showdown.
