brooke-elliottSo today I read again My Top 10 leading ladies on TV, and it´s time to go back and start doing the second part of it, following the same guidelines. If the leading role is another actor / actress, she better be awesome as the semilead, and a principal role enough. I ruled all cast ensembles (Glee, How I Met Your Mother and Modern Family, i.e.) out, and I ruled join leads (Rizzoli & Isles, Bones, Castle) in.

So, just to recap first, the top ten, and then we dive into the spots 11 through 20.

Top ten best shows that don´t get enough buzz and love

There are several shows that are good or great and people everywhere watch them, and the shows gets talked about a lot, and you should already know I´m talking about House, X Factor, How I Met Your Mother Modern Family and several others.

But here, I am trying to give some of the shows that get lesser attention the love they deserve

Here are the top ten best shows that don´t get enough buzz and love

1- Psych – USA Network

fanappreciation-landing-psychBeing one of the best (if not the best) dramedy around, it never gets enough attention, nor awards love, but seeing Shawn and Gus every week makes for a great hour of fun.
And also, Shawn and Gus have hilarious nicknames, and how Psych do pop references each episode. If you haven´t started watching this show, don´t even finish this article. Get up and go start watching it.

2- Drop Dead Diva – Lifetime

If you read the description “A wannabe model dies, but due to a mixup in heaven comes back as an overweight superbusy lawyer, and the only ones who know are the guardian angel and the best friend” you would think I would not like the show. But, fortunately I gave it a chance, and that was all the show needed to prove me wrong.
I am left with a feel good sensation after each episode, and I love the characters. I´m positive you will too.

3- American Pickers – History Channel

Two guys, one skinny, one chubby, running around on garbage mountains trying to find treasures. One word: Entertaining!
If you haven´t started watching it. You should do know.

4- The Dog Whisperer – National Geographic

Cesar Millan is just impressive, you can´t get enough of it. I´m sure you´ll watch one episode and be left wondering how on earth does he do it.
And also, you´ll be practicing the “Tchhh”.

5- Expedition Impossible – ABC

It´s not the biggest reality competition, and many could claim it looks a lot like The Amazing Race, but having a show with Dave Salmoni, The Gypsys and No Limits will really make for great television. You get the best feeling out of it, and you are thoroughly entertained. I really hope the casting for the second season is as good a job as the first one.

6- Breakout Kings – A&E

It faced the big names premiering: Camelot, The Borgias, The Killing and many more, but in my eyes it can claim the best new show title hands down. Jimmi Simpson is at his best, and the rest of the cast is likewise awesome. And we even got the chance to see Theodore Bagwell again.

7- Melissa & Joey – ABC Family

It´s a little show. A simple sitcom with a will they won´t they tension in the back. But it gets carried so greatly by two former teen sensations that show great comedic chops.

8- What Not To Wear – TLC

Clinton and Stacy make the most entertaining fashion show on TV. Period.

9- Shark Tank – ABC

This reality show is entertaining, educational, fun and has the potential to change lives and grow wealth in society. What more to ask? Oh, and they added Mark Cuban!

10- The Nate Berkus Show – Syndication

He is the true heir to Oprah´s throne. So why not giving Nate Berkus the love he deserves!

What do you think about these ten shows who don´t get enough press and love as deserved? Let me know in rhe comments section.

Melissa & Joey season finale preview scoop – premieres September 14 8PM

melissa-and-joey-season-finale-abc-familyYou already know there will be a season two, since Melissa & Joey has been renewed, so there will be some kind of cliffhanger in this season finale, and here some more scoop about the doubleheader finale from ABC Family´s freshman hit.
Mel and Joe are forced to think like parents when they worry about Lennox going to an all night party, and Joe comes into some money and considers leaving his “manny” post, on the season finale, with two all-new, back-to-back episodes of “Melissa & Joey,” premiering Wednesday, September 14 (8:00 – 9:00 PM ET/PT).

In “Do As I Say, Not As I Did,” Mel helps Lennox get ready for her school dance but has a difficult time discussing teenage pressures with her. After she catches Lennox’s boyfriend making an adult purchase at the pharmacy, she enlists Joe’s help in getting through to Lennox. Back at home, Ryder finally finds the courage to stand up to his bossy girlfriend, Holly.

In “The Settlement,” Joe finds himself coming into some money owed him by his previous employer, which allows him to pursue other interests, so he quit his “manny” job. With Joey moving out and no longer her employee, Mel and Joe realize they may have more than friendly feelings for each other. And, the leaky ceiling in Mel’s house proves to be a larger problem than Joe anticipated, leading to some very unexpected destruction.

Cancelled and Renewed Shows 2011: ABC Family renews Melissa & Joey for second season

melissa-and-joey-cancelled-renewed-abc-familyAs usual, we are reviewing all the cancelled shows on 2011 and the renewed shows on 2011… And this one should surprise no one. ABC Family renews Melissa & Joey for season two.

The show stars Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence and its first season is finishing airing throughout the summer and fall and second season will return in 2012.

First season was split between two runs, and probably the second season of Melissa & Joey will be too.

The show is now airing on Wednesdays paired with State of Georgia, Raven Symone´s vehicle.

Melissa & Joey second season renewal order came today after good ratings for the show both overall as in the adult 18-49 demo.

The show´s been funny and healthy family entertainment, so having it on that network makes a lot of sense, and a very deserving show to get a pickup.

I don´t know what you think about this one, but my gut tells me it´s something good that Melissa & Joey got renewed for season two by ABC Family.

Melissa and Joey Storyline: What´s a Ponzi Scheme?

melissa-and-joey-ponzi-schemeOk, so Melissa and Joey is starting to become quite a funny show. And in this case, we´re going a little through the storylines.

Melissa´s brother is guilty of a Ponzi Scheme, and then, he´s away and forcing Joey to bankrupcy.

But what is a Ponzi Scheme? Let´s see…

What is a Ponzi Scheme

A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investment  operation that pays returns to separate investors from their own money or money paid by subsequent investors, rather than from any actual profit earned. The Ponzi scheme usually entices new investors by offering returns other investments cannot guarantee, in the form of short-term returns that are either abnormally high or unusually consistent. The perpetuation of the returns that a Ponzi scheme advertises and pays requires an ever-increasing flow of money from investors to keep the scheme going.

The system is destined to collapse because the earnings, if any, are less than the payments to investors. Usually, the scheme is interrupted by legal authorities before it collapses because a Ponzi scheme is suspected or because the promoter is selling unregistered securities. As more investors become involved, the likelihood of the scheme coming to the attention of authorities increases. While the system eventually will collapse under its own weight, the example of Bernard Madoff demonstrates the ability of a Ponzi scheme to delude both individual and institutional investors as well as securities authorities for long periods: Madoff’s variant of the Ponzi scheme stands as the largest financial investor fraud committed by a single person in history. Prosecutors estimate losses at Madoff’s hand totaling roughly $21 billion, as estimated by the money invested by his victims. If the promised returns are added the losses amount to $64.8 billion, but a New York court dismissed this estimation method during the Madoff trial.

The scheme is named for Charles Ponzi, who became notorious for using the technique in early 1920. He had emigrated from Italy to the United States in 1903. Ponzi did not invent the scheme (Charles Dickens’ 1857 novel Little Dorrit described such a scheme decades before Ponzi was born, for example), but his operation took in so much money that it was the first to become known throughout the United States. His original scheme was in theory based on arbitraging international reply coupons for postage stamps, but soon diverted investors’ money to support payments to earlier investors and Ponzi’s personal wealth.

Knowingly entering a Ponzi scheme, even at the last round of the scheme, can be rational economically if there is a reasonable expectation that government or other deep pockets will bail out those participating in the Ponzi scheme.
