Burn Notice tip to When you realize your only friends are on Twitter:
“If you wanna make a friend, solve a problem for them. No problem to solve? Create one.”
feel this is the closest to my current situation right now.
Mine is:
“If you want to empty a building, pulling a fire alarm is useless; no one pays attention unless they’re actually on fire. A bomb scare next door to your target strikes the right balance — everyone clears out and then pays attention to the other building.”
Although, in some occasions, it might be better a bomb scare in one of the upper stories of your target building. Seeing as everybody up is evacuating, people WILL get out of the premises; and nobody will go upstairs to check if its a real threat.

“If you wanna make a friend, solve a problem for them. No problem to solve? Create one.”
Twitter friends are so low-maintenance and undemanding. But they also won’t have your back when some Russian arms dealer is holding your girlfriend hostage in exchange for your cooperation in his latest smuggling scheme. For this reason, it’s best to cultivate some real-life compatriots who can back you up when need be, even if it’s because you saved them from a danger you created yourself. Gotta do what you gotta do, right? 😛
I think this is a great tip: When you’re locked out of your house:
“Freon is available at most computer stores. Buy a can of screen duster, turn it upside-down, and you’ve got it in liquid form. It’s cold enough to crystallize the metal in many commercial locks. A hammer can take care of the rest.” We have a big gate with a strong lock, and I learned the hard way how incredibly difficult it is to cut a good lock with a bolt cutter. I’m thinking we should keep a can of screen duster on hand, just in case we ever lose the key or if the lock ices over when the power is out (which means we’ll be out of hot water, too).

Most of my friends ARE only on twitter. It’s a price that comes with being a TV nerd. When trying to ‘branch out’ into real life social experiments, making someone believe there is a problem only you can solve is a great way to make friends. The friendship will start off on a lie, but at least you’ll have friends…
Burn Notice tip to When you need – ahem – privacy in an elevator:
“Take surveillance cameras, for example — you can disable one by shooting a laser at it and overloading the light-sensitive chip.”
I’d actually be interested in trying this and seeing how well it works and I imagine it could be useful in certain situations.
