We are reviewing all the cancelled shows and renewed shows of the season.
This fall season, a lot of shows are falling like crazy. NBC already cancelled Outlaw, ABC Family cancelled Huge, Fox cancelled Lone Star, ABC cancelled My Generation, and also cancelled The Whole Truth, and MTV cancelled The City in its second season, and HBO cancelled Big Love at its fifth and NBC cancelled Undercovers, and Supernanny gets cancelled so Jo Frost can move on, and Disney cancelled Jonas LA.
Some are getting renewed, since HBO renews Eastbound & Down for season three, and also renews Bored to Death for season three and TLC renewed Sister Wives, and NBC renews Days of Our Lives and Fox renews The Simpsons.
And today, sadly there are bad news for Rubicon fans, albeit a great storyline and good quality of the show, the numbers just weren´t there, and AMC cancelled Rubicon, not ordering a second season of it.
Representatives from the network said: (In regards to Rubicon cancellation): “This was not an easy decision, but we are grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such a talented team”.
Are you sad AMC cancelled Rubicon? Would you watch it if there was a second season?
Let me know your thoughts in the comments section.

I am very disappointed that Rubicon did not get another season. By the last five episodes I could not wait for Sunday night to watch the newest episode. I guess I’m in the minority of TV viewers who enjoy smart, well crafted series with characters who are real and a storyline that is not moving at breakneck speed.
I will miss Rubicon.
Cancelled and Renewed Shows 2010: AMC cancels Rubicon…
Here at World Spinner we are debating the same thing……
Of course I’d watch, given it was one of the very few pieces of dramatic writing, acting, producing, directing, and lest we forget, killer lighting, that is worthy of my time. Finding this kind of gritty mental and emotional nourishment amidst an ocean of Pablum and pureed-pears-style productions masquerading as drama is rare indeed. Hey, when will the powers that be in cable realize there’s a lot of us that would pay a monthly fee for shows like this…get rid of the sponsors-holding-producers/cable companies-hostage situation? So, hopefully, there are more theater-conditioned viewers out there that will make enough noise that suppliers like AMC will realize they can’t give quality TV to a select group of viewers and then because it doesn’t get numbers (in its first season. C’mon guys!) and cancel the series? And not even some rehab services for dedicated followers do they provide. Again, AMC, why don’t you create an “arts” division for brilliant shows like Rubicon that are financed by a monthly fee? Lot’s of us would pay. Try us.
I really enjoyed Rubicon. It seems to me that it was not viewed because it was buried in the middle of nowhere Perhaps it would do best on another station. It seems like a sure winner

AMC should have given Ruicon a second season to catch on to let others catch up. It started slowly. Was a little a murky, but concluded with a bang. I will miss the cast, all class. How can you not love a character as devious and deliciously named Truxton Spangler?
I’m very diasappointed, loved that show!
I am SO disappointed. I cleared my schedule every Sunday night to watch this show. My whole family is addicted. We like the look of the show, the lighting, the feel of the settings. We deserve to know who the players are and why!!!! Do not leave us all hanging. No, no, no, no, no!!!!
I am very disappointed AMC didn’t renew Rubicon. It did start slowly but in retrospect this seemed necessary to build the storyline and characters.Sadly, this is a two-edged sword that could also “KILL” a show. It seems AMC does not play the reslotting game that the networks do to improve ratings. If they truly believed in a show you’d think other options would be played out before putting on the chop block. Maybe some other network WILL and it could be resurrected. I certainly hope so as it was truly starting to come into its own!
How does a show this well written, produced, and acted get cancelled? I’m now reduced to the weather and the occasional NFL game. No wonder people say they’ve got 300 channels and nothing on – it’s true.
what a shame. Another well crafted series destined for the junk pile. Why do the networks even bother airing a series that makes the audience actually think? Most of the American TV audience today are slack-jawed mouth breathers that find “reality TV” interesting. You would think that I’d learn my lesson by now… Don’t get attached to a good series that is anywhere near being cerebral.
That really sucks…i’d love to see some other network pick it up!!!!
Am very disappointed that Rubicon is being cancelled. At the very least a shortened 2nd season should be offered with some sense of conclusion.
I am very disappointed they canceled Rubicon. I can think of many others they should have gotten rid of!
It is VERY disappointing that Rubicon got cancelled like it did! There was really no conclusion to the show and left the viewers wondering…..actually looking forward to the next episode to find out what would happen next. I really hope that another network picks Rubicon up and does proper promotion of the show so that even more viewers can enjoy the suspense.
I can’t believe it! I dvr this show just because I loved it so much! This is a great show right next to the “V” and Lost! Bring it back!!!
What a major disappointment! This was such a well acted and written show. It seems that the more mindless a show is the easier it is to get picked up! Is this what Hollywood thinks of it’s audience?
I am so disappointed Rubicon was not renewed. I started watching by chance because it was on after Mad Men, but after two episodes, I was hooked. I started looking forward to watching Rubicon more than Mad Men. With so much garbage on television these days, it’s a shame that such a well-written, well-acted show couldn’t make it.
Not completely surprised that RUBICON was not renewed. Usually when there is show with such and incredible cast, crew, writers, and direction some genius puts it into a time slot that does not give it a chance. I appreciate all the efforts AMC did for Mad Men wish they would rethink their decision on RUBICON.
What needs to happen for AMC to revive “Rubicon” and reverse their decision to cancel it? It’s so maddening that among that huge pile of bad TV programming a quality show like Rubicon gets axed. Is this perhaps a marketing problem?
This is very disappointing. My whole family watches it 8+ people and I have many friends who watch it. This has been discussion over Christmas and no one can believe it is being cancelled. HBO should pick it up if AMC cannot do it. There is so little good TV. VJ
Unbelieveable. Nothing good ever lasts. I think one of the executives had it in for someone on the show. There was room for so much more character development. They just scratched the surface.
Of course they would cancel a show that actually had substance and true suspense. I could not wait for Sunday nights because of this show and I am so upset at the news of its cancellation that I felt compelled to chime in. When you look at where our country is heading in terms of entertainment, we are on the slippery slope to nowhere. We are engulfed in “reality” shows that are as dumb and meaningless as our citizenry, or shows that have crude sexual dialogue. Logic and critical thinking are about to go the way of the dodo bird. What a shame that AMC is canceling such a great show. I hope someone in that organization will reconsider and give the show another chance. A pox and fleas to all of you involved in this sad decision.
RUBICON was a great thriller. But because they didn’t sex it up
like mad men it didn’t get super high ratings.
If that’s all that we are going to have no is Jersey shores & playboy TV lite, well F-U TV networks. Especially AMC which should be about creating great cinema / TV.
GRRRRRR!
This is as bad as ABC canceling FlashForward!
OH NO! This is one of my favorite shows ever and I would’ve watched a 24 hour marathon if I could…great storyline and acting, suspense and more. I don’t think they gave the show a chance to take off, it is enigmatic and if you miss the beginning you might be lost. Just give us a replay of the first season, I am sure it will take off this time, I would watch it over again!!! Please!!!
I cannot believe that they cancelled this show, it was the best thing that has been on TV for a long time, even at the beginning when it was going a little slow it was still great, great story, great characters, great acting, just pure excellence. It was good to have something with intelligence and I don’t mean the job they were doing I mean the whole idea. Why do amazing shows like this get cancelled but crap reality shows go on forever?
I agree with Stevie, it seems like they just want to dumb us down with shit TV instead of providing quality TV that is making us think that there may be more to things than we first thought.
May be the show is a little too close to 9/11 showing us that things are actually controlled by people high up within our own countries who use the media and propaganda to make it look like it’s people/groups from other countries. 9/11 was designed by the government to get the peoples backing so we would enter a war with Iraq and take their Oil therefore making billions in the process; Afghanistan was invaded as it has the ideal climate to grow opium (the raw ingredient of Heroin) before the invasion only about 100 acres of the stuff were grown (not exact amount but let me make my point) now it is controlled by US and UK forces 1000 times that is grown (again not exact facts but it has increased massively), and more than likely it is controlled by our governments.
God I love a good conspiracy theory!!
Back to the show – All the blogs I read about this show everyone is gutted and everyone loves it – what is going on!!!
IMDb vote = 8.6 surely that speaks for itself??? Mad men got 9.0 Rubicon is only 0.4 away??
I would definitely like to see another season of Rubicon. The writing and acting was outstanding.
Once I got in to the story I could not take my eyes off of the characters, the acting, the plot. If the networks are going to continue cancelling shows that do not have an ending at the end of each hour, we the viewers will quit watching. At least give the viewers a ENDING. I am going to think long and hard before I start getting interested in any new series that require me to keep watching week to week. Can you imagine if 24 was cancelled after 10 shows.
I gave Rubicon a chance, watching it on demand, and was almost instantly a huge fan. The pilot episode, I’ll admit, almost lost me because of the slow start, but then BAM! Two trains collide head-on and the conspiracy started unfolding. I loved Rubicon, and will miss it. AMC should have renewed for a second season. WAY to many unanswered questions. Imagine if Lost had ended after its 3rd or 4th season. Season 1 ended leaving so many possibilities out there for Season 2, but the world will never know… It’s just disappointing.
What a joke that they cancelled one of the most thought provoking piece of work on TV I have seen in a long time. How about AMC get some artistic integrity and invest in its reputation as oppossed to picking up some crap like “The Walking Dead.” Ohh yeah that’s what we need, a “fresh take” on the most overplayed themes in entertainment history. Did I mention the walking dead blows?
What a joke… “Telling the Best Stories on TV… and then cancelling them in favor of popular garbage”
AMC just started down the long road of blowing.
I LOVED every second of this show!!! What is AMC thinking? Are they thinking?
This was one of the best written and acted series I have seen so, of course, it would have to be canceled. Why produce a project that makes people think when one could produce dumbed down pablum for the masses. It really is true; the BBC has it all over American TV. Can’t help but wonder if AMC is working on a new reality show to fit better into its scheduling!
Hell yes I’d watch it. Rubicon was a great show, which is probably why it got cancelled. Crap stays on, quality gets cancelled. AMC is as moronic as FOX and CBS.
The best show I have ever watched, its really to bad.
What a shame. A very interesting show. It’s incredible how quality shows frequently don’t make it, while ‘reality’ shows dominate the scene. It sure says a lot about the viewing public.
It has now been removed from appletv…… This is beyond crazy.
This story should had been at the movies and straight strong talk should had been added and the story line on the table to twist and turn and add spices to it for good measure and don’t get me wrong this man is smoking hot and his story line should not be toned down but placed in a movie and just let his words fly could had really made some real bank for his looks and…That part could be saved to some degree but it is better to make it a movie! Before you make it a show?
Loved the show. Producers, please bring it back for a 2nd season. It’s not too late!!!
