Hayden Panettiere stars in Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy premieres February 21 on Lifetime

amanda-knox-murder-on-trial-in-Italy-lifetime-hayden-panettiereEver since Heroes got cancelled, everybody is getting probably withdrawal symptoms from it, fortunately we can get our fixes of it when USA airs Covert Affairs with Sendhil Rammamurty, or now that A&E landed Greg Grunberg for a new pilot.

Well, now Actress Hayden Panettiere (The Cheerleader) stars as “Amanda Knox” in the Lifetime Original Movie Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy.

The movie is based on the international headline-grabbing story of the now infamous American exchange student accused by Italian authorities of brutally killing her roommate.

Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy premieres on Monday, February 21, 2011, at 9:00pm (ET/PT) on Lifetime Television.

Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy poses the question of whether Knox (Panettiere), the Seattle honors student accused of murdering her college roommate Meredith Kercher (Amanda Fernando Stevens) in 2007 with her boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito (Paolo Romio) and acquaintance Rudy Guede (Djirbi Kebe), actually committed the crime or was herself a victim.  Referred to as “Foxy Knoxy” by her Italian prosecutor, Guiliani Mignini (Vincent Riotta), and the press, Knox was painted as an oversexed remorseless killer during her two-year trial leading up to her conviction and subsequent sentencing to 26 years in jail.  Harden portrays Amanda’s mother Edda Mellas.

amanda-knox-murder-on-trial-in-Italy-lifetime-hayden-panettiereImmediately following the movie at 11PM ET/PT, Lifetime will premiere the hour-long documentary, Beyond the Headlines: Amanda Knox.  The program features Amanda’s mother and father, as well as friends, investigators, prosecutors and legal scholars who take viewers inside the Italian justice system and reveal what it’s like to be a foreigner locked up and convicted in another country.  Set in the town of Perugia, Italy, and Amanda’s hometown of Seattle, the documentary will unravel the legal evidence and allegations to look at what really happened to Meredith Kercher on November 2, 2007 – and what Amanda Knox’s role might have been.

Is there going to be a Heroes movie?

sendhil ramamurthy beard heroes movieIs there going to be a Heroes movie? That is the question…

During a Q&A with Sendhil Ramamurthy the subject arose. If there was going to be a Heroes movie and can Christopher Gorham (his new costar at Covert Affairs) be in it?

Sendhil Ramamurthy answered: “Can Gorham be in it?  You know what, if there’s a Heroes movie, I’m guaranteeing that we’ll get Gorham in it.  Right here, you heard it here first.  I don’t know if there’s going to be a Heroes movie.  I’d love for there to be one.  I think that it would be great for the fans to have the story wrapped up properly because that finale was a season finale; that was not a series finale and I feel like we owe it to the fans who were incredibly loyal and supportive of us through all the ups and downs of Heroes, it would be nice to do it for them to have some sort of closure.

I don’t know if it’s going to happen.  If I’m being 100% honest, I don’t see how it can, just scheduling-wise it’s going to be really, really difficult (Remember to check out Covert Affairs, his new show on USA Network. Great new show).  But if anybody can do it Tim Kring will pull it together somehow.

Oh, good.  Now I’m going to have people from NBC calling me saying, “What the … are you doing?”  I’m going to be getting e-mails from Tim Kring in about five minutes.  My BlackBerry is going to light up.

And then he was asked to explain a little about the bearded Sendhil Ramamurthy we see in this post, and if it was a plotline for a new season of Heroes or even a Heroes Movie

“There was a whole storyline that I kind of pitched for Dr. Suresh to the writers of Heroes and I’m not going to go into it.  It involved being a mountain man with a grisly beard and I thought it was really fun and cool.  They didn’t and I showed up on the set and they were like, “Shave immediately.”  And that’s kind of what happened.  And I actually did press where I said that the beard was part of the story before they wrote it so that they would be forced to write it and they so weren’t forced to write anything.  They’re like, “Sendhil, go to make up and have Wendy shave you.  That’s it.”

What do you think? Do you want it to be a Heroes Movie? What role do you think Christopher Gorham could play in a potential Heroes Movie?

Head to the comments and let me know.

Complete Recap and Spoilers of Heroes S04E15 – Let it Bleed

Noah takes over for Mohinder on voice over duties as he worries about how to protect Claire from the evil in the world without losing her. We see a series of the nastiness that has passed, including Sameul and whatever he’s up to.

In Suresh’s apartment, Noah and Lauren get testy over how to track down Samuel. Lauren wants to call Claire to use the compass, but he knows she’s still mad at him. Lauren gets a computer alert on Vanessa Wheeler (Kate Vernon), Samuel’s long-lost love. They give her a call.

She says she doesn’t know anyone named Samuel Sullivan, which is weird because he grew up on the estate her family owned. Noah’s off to visit her in California.

Lydia interrupts Samuel as he’s writing a letter. She sees the drawing of Vanessa. He checks that she’s still on his side. He says they’re close to realizing their dreams. The day has come to bring Vanessa in.

Lydia knows Samuel is up to something and she doesn’t like it. She thinks the family needs a new leader, someone that Samuel said was like the next Joseph. Lydia uses some mind games to sneak into Peter’s brain.

He wakes bolt upright in bed with a brand new tattoo — of a compass.

Parkman makes breakfast and plans for ratatouille that evening as his wife checks that he’s happy as a stay-at-home dad. She leaves and Parkman turns to see Noah standing in his kitchen.

Noah tells Parkman the Sylar thing was a terrible idea and he needs his help with Samuel.

Ando takes Hiro to the mental hospital, where Hiro calls him Sancho and talks about finding Dr. Watson. Ando watches as they take Hiro down the hall. Hiro sees the name “Ahmadi” on a patient’s door and shouts “Dr. Watson!” With the security out of the way, Ando zaps his way in and sees that Watson is Suresh.

Noah and Parkman find Vanessa, a concert cellist. She doesn’t want to talk to them until Parkman mind zaps her.

Peter leaves someone a message about the tattoo being back on his arm. Out on the street he pauses as he seems to hear Emma playing the cello.

He buzzes at her door. She’s excited bringing him there with music worked. She tells him about what Samuel taught her. Peter sees the same compass tattoo on the cello.

Vanessa tells Parkman and Noah that Samuel disappeared after growing up on her family’s property, then came back for a few weeks of a torrid affair then wanted her to run off to the carnival.

He’s been showing up around her lately at odd hours. Noah thinks that instead of going to the carnival they can bring the carnival to them. He asks Vanessa to call him.

In his apartment, Peter shows Emma a picture in the newspaper of Samuel, who he knows as William Hooper. He gave her a compass. Peter warns her that the last time he saw a compass like that his friend got stabbed.

There’s a knock at the door and Angela breezes her way in. She stops when she sees Emma and demands how Peter knows her. Emma excuses herself.

In the mental hospital, Ando’s just glad that Hiro isn’t crazy. Ando wonders why Suresh hasn’t broken free and Hiro says the storm troopers (orderlies) gave him Jawa Juice (drugs). Hiro wants to turn Bruce Banner back into the Hulk.

Ando sneaks over to an orderlies’ cart with pills for the patients and swaps Sureshs’ meds out. He gets caught by the orderly and with no where to put Suresh’s pills, he pops them in his mouth then accidentally swallows them. Nap time for Sancho Panza.

Parkman and Noah stake out a hotel waiting for Samuel to meet Vanessa. Several versions of Eli stop them and Samuel gets away with her, then pauses to tear up some LA street in front of Noah.

They’re left to follow the GPS they gave Vanessa.

In his apartment, Peter tries to get his mom to tell him the truth about a dream she had about Emma. She says Emma’s going to help kill thousands of people and it has something to do with the cello. She thinks Peter can’t save her. When she won’t say more, Peter grabs her arm and takes her ability.

Suresh wakes up in a straight jacket on the floor of his padded room to Hiro pounding on the door and calling him Dr. Watson. Suresh Hulks out and breaks free. He remembers that Hiro put him there, but he’s a little confused by the reference to Sancho.

They find Ando in the broom closet Hiro stashed him in and make a run for it as the alarms sound. Orderlies chase them down the hallway but Ando zaps the door open and they’re free.

Parkman and Noah pull up to a deserted arid plain. Noah finds a pamphlet for the carnival and they realize they just missed them. They need a compass, but Noah doesn’t want to bother Claire.

Back at Parkman’s, Noah leaves a message for Lauren but Parkman is focused on his ratatouille. Noah gives him a lecture about responsibility, calling him a coward, and wants to go after Vanessa. But Parkman says some days you can’t save the world. He tells him to go hug Claire.

Peter dreams fitfully and sees Emma in a house of mirrors playing her cello and crying as people scream in the distance. Then Sylar appears and tells her he’s come to save her. Peter wakes up.

Peter buzzes Emma’s door. He walks in and bashes the cello to pieces. He tells her about his dream and that something bad is going to happen. She throws him out.

Hiro, Ando and Suresh run through the Everglades as men with dogs follow them. Ando explains Hiro can’t teleport until they unscramble his brain. When Ando says it was electroshock therapy that did it, Suresh suggests Ando zap him. He does. It works. They leap.

Noah knocks at Claire’s door. He babbles for a while then comes around to staying he wants to fix things with her. She says she needs to be somewhere and asks if they can talk later. At Parkman’s, his wife babbles about her day at the office while Parkman zones out. Then he asks her if she thinks he’s a coward. He thinks he is for not going after Sylar. She says there’s nothing cowardly about looking after your family. He doesn’t look convinced.

At the carnival, Samuel brings Vanessa some tea. She wants to go home. He says he had to act to protect her from Noah. She stands to leave but he grabs her, then gently traces the lines on her face. He tells her there’s something he wants her to see. And if she doesn’t like it he’ll take her “right back to California.” It’s news to her that they’ve left the state. He tells her it’s beautiful and perfect.

Back at the NYC apartment, Lauren knocks on Noah’s door. He apologizes and tells her he cares for her more than he wants to admit. They kiss.

Then Hiro, Ando and Suresh pop in.

To Be Continued….

Greg Grunberg´s Yowza nominated to Smart App of the Year on the Golden Mouse

We all know Greg Grunberg is a great guy… he´s a fan favourite at Heroes playing Matt Parkman, he´s the heart and soul of Rock Band “Band From TV” playing alongside Hugh Laurie, Bonnie Sommerville, Jesse Spencer, Adrian Pasdar and many more; he´s launching a website called Talkaboutit.org and it’s all about getting the awareness out about epilepsy; he´s also an entrepreneur launching Yowza!! an idea he had to save people money by using their iPhone through signing up a bunch of retailers and getting them to offer discounts—10 percent off at Gap, 20 percent off at Barnes & Noble, free coffee at Starbucks—and offer it as a free application you use while you are in the mall, or wherever you are going to spend money. Once you use Yowza!! it’s so easy to save money, you will never spend a dime without first checking your Yowza!!” An added bonus: it couldn’t be more green — no newspaper coupons, no mailers, no paper of any kind. It’s all digital and free and already on your iPhone or iPod Touch. He created it with some guys he met on Twitter of all places.

Well, this time congratulations are in order, since Yowza has been nominated for the Golden Mouse Awards for the Number One App of the Year.

Although they didn´t win, it´s still a great thing having Yowza nominated.

Keep up the good work Grunny!

Also congrats to all the other nominees and to the winner “Urban Spoon“.

Cancelled Shows 2010: Heroes renewed for a new season? or cancelled?

Heroes cancelled renewed

For more news like this: Remember to follow me on Twitter

UPDATE 3: NBC officially cancelled Heroes. Bummer. More here

UPDATE2: Hold it for a second… on a last minute tweet, Greg Grunberg said this:

Wait a minute!! Fat Lady may have a soar throat!! Stay tuned…less than a minute ago via Tweetie

UPDATE: Heroes is likely getting cancelled. The same Greg Grunberg who was so optimistic a while ago twitted about Heroes getting cancelled. Albeit he did it in a semi cryptic way:

The “Fat Lady” is doing her vocal warm-ups!!less than a minute ago via Tweetie

We are reviewing all the cancelled shows and renewed shows of the season.

So… if the fat lady is about to sing… that probably means Heroes gets cancelled.

But, a Heroes movie can be in the making.

And this one is not an official announcement, but a statement from Greg Grunberg, one of Heroes Stars.

According to Michael Ausiello, Greg Grunberg told him on the People´s Choice Awards that Heroes is renewed for a fifth season,

Greg Grunberg told Ausiello: “We wrapped yesterday and the [final episode] is nowhere near a series finale, It is cliffhanger-y and exciting, but it is nowhere near an end to a series that people are so invested in. It does not tie everything up in a neat bow… I don’t have any doubt that the show will be back.

So… it doesn´t matter if ratings aren´t the best… DVD sales, and international audiences are steadily good, so Heroes is renewed.

But, according to Vulture, NBC is cancelling Heroes instead of giving it a new fifth season run. However, the show could get a two or four hour movie wrap up to give the show a closure, in some sort of a Heroes fifth season renewal in a different format.

Apparently, NBC has five nice bets for this season, one of them J.J. Abrams new show, hence making Heroes as a backup plan a waste of money… 5 million hardcore US based fans, and International fans may be the saviors and make NBC gather the money for a two or four hour movie that can close the story and turn into the swan song for Heroes.

Are you happy that Heroes will be renewed for a fifth season according to Greg Grunberg? Or do you trust Vulture when they say it´s cancelled? Would you watch a movielike finale for Heroes?

While Heroes may have been cancelled the full box set has had a DVD release so both old fans and new can relive all the series.

Complete Recap and Spoilers of Heroes S04E04 – Chapter Four ‘Acceptance’”

Our heroes remain apart in their own storylines.

First up is Hiro who has decided to continue his “Dial-a-Hero” escapades against Ando’s wishes, since the time travel is contributing to whatever is killing him.

Since he went back in time to hook up Ando and Kimiko they are in love and have decided to get married. She tells Hiro that although they’ve never been close- since he hasn’t been a “serious” person like her- she wants him to give her away at the wedding. He is touched and says yes.

Kimiko tells Ando the good news. He says Hiro shouldn’t make promises he can’t keep since the wedding is a year away and he might not be here anymore. He urges Hiro to tell Kimiko that he is dying. But before he can the “Dial-A-Hero” line rings. It’s a former Yamagoto Industries employee named Tadashi who is on the roof threatening to jump. Hiro goes up and hears his story. Turns out Tadashi photocopied his butt at a company party after drinking too much sake and was fired from accounting. He says his family is ashamed and he jumps.

Hiro goes back in time and stops him from photocopying his butt and is surprised when he returns and Tadashi calls from the roof again and again and again. Turns out he keeps doing it at whatever the next party is. Hiro keeps going back in time but Tadashi keeps photocopying his butt until Hiro realizes he can’t change this particular mistake. So he tells Tadashi to do something he loves so it won’t feel like work, to not keep secrets from his family, and to cherish life because it’s short. He knows since he’s dying. Tadashi is touched and decides not to jump. Hiro goes and tells Kimiko the truth about him dying. She is sad and confused. He says he has many stories to tell her and he hopes he has time. He then grabs his head and has some kind of intense pain. Kimiko asks what’s wrong. Hiro says he’s fine and then disappears right in front of her and Ando.

Next up is Noah Bennet. He’s at loose ends not knowing what to do with his life now that’s he’s given up on bagging and tagging. Peter comes to see him to show him the compass in his forearm but when he arrives the tattoo is gone. He explains it to Noah but Noah says he’s all set with that stuff. Peter says okay and as he takes off Claire shows up. He says he’s gotta get to work in ten minutes and she’s all “you live in New York.” He tells her to ask her dad about his new power and zips off.

Claire has come to check up on her dad who is spending his days eating cereal and ordering Japanese take-out. She suggests he get a job. Like the lumber salesman job she finds on the want ads, noting he’s a “people person.” He reminds her that he never actually sold paper. She wants to role play an interview and asks about his greatest strength as a salesman. He says if he can’t make the sale he’ll just shoot them.

She pushes him to talk about what his strength really is. He says he’s the ultimate company man. She talks about all of the people he’s helped but he doesn’t feel like he did, he feels like he mostly hurt people. She says that things change, people change and maybe to find out who you’re going to be you have to remember who you were. He’s surprised by her sage advice. By the end of the episode he’s starting to do some research of speedy blade man and amass info about the compass.

Tracy Strauss, now free of Danko, has returned to ask Governor Malden for a job. He happily says he can use her, if you know what I mean… for lobbying and whatnot. But for some reason Tracy isn’t satisfied with her huge walk-in closet and cushy government job. She goes to Noah to talk. He says she got what she wanted. She says she knows but feels like something’s missing. He passes on Claire’s advice about remembering who you were to figure out who you want to be. She meets Malden for dinner and tells him what she really wants to do is help people, make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. He’s all, let’s not get crazy you’re good at shtupping your way to pushing legislation through. And on that note he suggests skipping dinner and going upstairs, making each other “happy” and then figuring out the job thing later. She excuses herself and goes to the ladies room. There she starts to cry and is horrified as she watches her hands begin to turn to water. After she gets control of herself and becomes corporeal again she goes to Malden and says she can’t go back to her old ways. He says he doesn’t understand. She says she wouldn’t expect him to.

Nathan Petrelli continues to feel freaky about not being able to remember his past or feel like it’s his past that he’s remembering. So Angela comes to Washington with a box of his old stuff knowing that when he touches the things they will activate the Sylar power of knowing the history of the object. He picks up a model airplane and is transported to a time when he played with it. He picks up a baseball cap and is transported to a night in his teen or young man years when he was hanging poolside with a pretty young thing and then he flashes on her face down in the pool with blood pouring from her head.

Since Peter hasn’t been returning his phone calls Nathan goes to the hospital in New York to talk to him. He shows him his telekinesis. Peter says the multiple powers must run in the family. He then explains about the crazy memories and wonders if they could be real. Peter says he’s heard of that and explains how it works. Nathan explains about the memory with the girl Kelly. Peter tells him if he thinks there was foul play Nathan should get to the bottom of it.

Nathan goes to visit Kelly’s mom, his mom’s old friend Millie (played by Swoosie Kurtz). Millie reiterates the story everyone knows: Kelly ran off, bought a one-way ticket to London, picked up her bag at Heathrow and was never heard from again. She says it did cross her mind that something else happened and she actually had Nathan investigated by a P.I. because she knew they were dating. But he came up clean. This doesn’t sit right with Nathan who wanders out to the pool and puts his hand on a statue. He flashes back and sees his younger self and Kelly have a few drinks, chase each other around the pool. He goes to touch the diving board and has a flash of her slipping and hitting her head on the side of the pool. It was an accident.

Later at a bar his mother shows up saying she got a call from MIllie. She admits that she had it “taken care” of, disposed of the body and had the Haitian wipe his memory. He says it was an accident. She says it didn’t look that way, his future could’ve been ruined and she was trying to protect him. He’s aghast she could let her friend Millie believe that she was just a bad mom and that’s why her daughter ran away. Angela tells him to leave it alone.

Instead he goes back to Millie and tells her the truth. She says she doesn’t believe him.

Later, in his car in a parking garage he calls the police department and asks for the homicide division. While on hold, he thinks better of it and hangs up. As he gets out of his car he’s attacked from behind and knocked out.

We cut to Millie having lunch with Angela. She tells Angela about the meeting with Nathan. She says she didn’t believe his story but can only hope that wherever Kelly is she’s happy because that’s the only closure she can have.

We cut to a man dragging Nathan from a car in the woods, dumping him in an open grave, shooting him, and covering him with dirt.

Back at lunch Millie gets a call. It’s the dude who attacked Nathan saying the “package” has been delivered. She thanks him and hangs up. Angela wonders if it was important. Millie says no and asks where they were. Angela says “closure.” They then toast to closure.

Down at the carnival speedy blade man and tattoo girl are discussing Samuel’s new habit of bringing new people into “the family.” Speedy blade guy isn’t sure it’s such a good idea. Samuel pops out and says now that his brother’s dead he makes all the decisions. Tattoo girl is all “we were just talking is all.” He pulls her away saying she needs to show him who’s next. He dips his tattoo needle in some ink and says if she’s dissatisfied with anything she can talk to him. She says she’s not dissatisfied. He puts the needle to her back and the face that shows up is Bennet. He angrily asks why she keeps showing him Bennet since Bennet is no longer interested in them. She says she shows him what he needs to see and Bennet might have changed his mind. (This is when we got the shot of Bennet building a new wall of photos, clips, and evidence).

We cut back to Nathan’s grave and a hands shoots out of it. And then a body emerges gasping for breath. It’s Sylar.

Cancelled Shows 2009: Heroes getting cancelled by NBC?

heroes gets cancelled by NBC?We are reviewing all the cancelled shows and renewed shows of the season.

This cancellation is not at all announced nor even close to be announced… I already said this about Heroes getting cancelled on April Fool´s Day… but this time may be true.

Ratings for Season Premiere of Heroes went down 46% compared to last season season premiere. That as you may imagine the network thinks… sucks.

I´m guessing that puts Heroes on the line…

What do you think? Is Heroes getting cancelled? Should Heroes be cancelled? Or there´s a major comeback here?
