I don't agree. This was the very end of Ted & Robin's relationship as the episode's names is Something Old, being this relationship that something old, and the next episode being named Something New being somebody else (the mother!) that something new.

Wrong. He always calls her "Aunt Robin", and so do the kids, so they can't be adopted, 'cause they wouldn't call her aunt.
And well, there are a lot of other things that prove that they don't end up together... like that scene, where Robin is dancing with her dad at the wedding (which means that there was a wedding) and Ted sees "the mother" across the room, playing the bass guitar. Or that other episode where he says he loves when "the mother" sings in the kitchen or that he loves her paintings, describing her as Cindy's roommate.
So yeah, I think that scene in this last episode was just something to make us doubt about everything.

I'm happy, I think... But it's definitely time they ended it, it's gone on a little bit too long: I just wanna know who the damn mother is! Love the show though.

You know there's other shows besides 30 Rock, don't you

Nancy Grace has been spoofed on several TV shows, including Law & Order (Faith Yancy), and Boston Legal (Gracie Jane). That counts at least up somewhere in the 20's in my book. :-)

I see your point. But here“s the thing. Tracy could“ve been the stripper name. So there would be no problem there. She did not need to use her real name so the joke would be the mother stripped as Tracy.

I like this theory, but I do have one thing to add to it. We do, in a sense, learn the name of the Mother. In Episode 9 of Season 1, "Belly Full of Turkey," Ted's telling a false story to the Kids, saying he met their mother in a strip club, and he mentions her name being Tracy, and the kids believe it. Obviously, the kids are going to know their mother's name, so her name would have to be Tracy, unless they made a mistake, or the kids, for some odd reason, made it through their lives, never learning their mother's name...Idk. The only problem is this, is that Jerry's daughter's name is Carly. But it is also out there that the Mother is the random girl Ted bumped into at the St. Patrick's Day party. For one, why would they randomly toss that in there, if it wouldn't be of importance somehow, at sometime; two, it's mentioned earlier in the same episode that she was at that party. Plus, when he said she was there, it showed her with the umbrella, so all you saw was the umbrella, her coat, and her pants...The girl he bumped into, just so happens to have the same pants as his Wife...You just have to pay real close attention to see that.
